Worksheet BMF

I was wondering why I need to change my height in BMF? My average burn is 2468, this is without exercising. I am getting myself back into the swing of things. (I am a mom of 6, five are boys 12 and under) Though yesterday when I added exercise my burn was 2454, to be fair, I wasn't doing all my normal activities either. (I was a little wiped)
So here is what my next few weeks will be:
3 hours lifting
1.5 hours walking (so .75 as far as what counts)
I will see if my burn increases as I add back in my normal activities.
So as I asked earlier do you think I need to change my height in BMF as per the worksheet?
I guess

i don't have the answer for you... i just wanted to say Wow about being a mom of 6! i'm a mom of 4 girls.... :-)
i am sure your *normal* daily burns are pretty dang high -- just being...0 -
You might see if the BMF has adjusted correctly for you already, meaning sensors are working well for you.
Look at some sleep time cal/min figures, find the lowest figure x 1440 = BMR that is being used for all non-moving time, awake or sleeping.
How does that compare to the Katch BMR in the spreadsheet?
How does Katch BMR compare to Mifflin BMR that BMF would have started with?
It may have adjusted a great amount already, or there wasn't much to adjust.
Now find some awake watching a movie time, and see what that cal/min is x 1440 = RMR, which should be higher than BMR.
Spreadsheet TDEE Deficit tab near the top shows the Cunningham RMR and the Mifflin BMR if needed.
Close?
If so, sensors for non-moving time are working good for you.
Now find a known workout time, both cardio and lifting, in BMF activity level section of Moderate or Intense.
Does it show the whole time of the workout? If it's not even showing the full time in Moderate, then your moving time is likely off for calories burned.
If it shows it all, then the movement part works good for you.
So basically you can skip the height change if the BMF is working well for you. I'd use it though if one or the other of the above is decently off.
One gal had her 45 min lifting workout always show up as a mere 20 min under Moderate, when the cardio at the end was very intense.
After the height change, it logged the whole thing dead on to the minute.
Her BMR and RMR were already decently close though, but allowing the calculated BMR to start out closer to best estimate Katch will allow the device to finish the adjustment better, if the sensors work well for you.0 -
Wow. That was wonderful info, thank you.
What I have found out is that when I started using BMF in June my sleep was at a 1 or 1.1 for the lowest which puts me really close to my BMR. Now the lowest is a .8. I am also not getting enough credit for my working out. I worked out for an hour and only got credited with 26 minutes. I am going to try the change just to see how that helps. Thank you so much for your help!0 -

They aren't too shabby! LOL!0 -
So I checked my stats this morning and I got credit for my full workout. Only problem is I am a little worried about my sleep cal/min. The range was 1 - 1.5 I was averaging 1.2 most the night. So do I calculate by the 1 or the 1.2? If the 1 than I am below my BMR if the 1.2 than I am about 200 above my BMR. Thanks.0

Kind of like getting on the scale 2 times in a row, it bounces between 0.4 and 0.6, meaning the real value is between.
Those nighttime has some fluctuations. Other way is to just grab the lowest 2 or 3 hrs and see total cal burn, divide by min, then x 1440.
Sounds about right though. Since the BF% may be an estimate, and you may be 5% off that with BMR too, then 200 is easily within range.
If it shows a difference between sleep and just sitting awake not moving time, it'l working as good as it will for you, I'd say skip the adjustment it's sounding like.0 -
I did set it back to my height. Thank you so much for all the help and clarification. I learned a lot and will be able to use it to help me. I love your worksheet by the way!0
