Arm band for iPod and iPhone

My milestone is approaching and I've decided to buy an arm band as a reward. I have no reason to think my iPod will die anytime soon, but sometimes it might be handy to bring the phone along, so I'm looking for one that could fit both (not simultaneously of course).

The iPod is a nano of 2nd generation so size-wise in the middle and I'm worrying it would fly around in a band suitable for the iPhone, which is 4 by the way. I have no idea of how snugly those things sit on the arm, as you can hear. A last requirement is a pocket for a key.

Recommendations? Thanks in advance!

I have an arm band that fits my gen 3 ipod which I have the app on, as well as my music. I have a samsung galaxy that I sort of use the straps to attach to my arm, or I stick the phone in my sports bra, screen side out. I use the nike run app on my phone as well to track distance and keep track of my runs etc as I find the c25k app doesn't do that

I use a Belkin armband for my iPhone 4 and have a separate armband for my elderly iPod nano (which I really haven't used since I got the iPhone, since I like using apps like Endomondo and Zen Labs 10K trainer). The armband the the iPhone has a stretchy fabric behind the phone and a flexible plastic front. I think you could safely tuck your iPod into the iPhone armband on its own, as the stretchy back and adjustable velcro strap will work to keep it snug and the plastic front will provide plenty of friction to keep it from migrating around too much. There should be enough space for a key as well. I bought mine at a Fred Meyer (grocery store, depending on your part of the world) for somewhere between $15-$20.

    Congrats on your upcoming milestone!

I haven't got around to buying one yet but I did see some in the sports shop the other day (sure sign I'm a lost cause, I've started browsing in sports shops instead of supermarkets). Some looked kind of specific to iPhone sized devices but one looked just like a neoprene type stretchy pull-on arm band with a pocket to take various sized iPods/phones etc.

Like you, I use my old but reliable 2nd gen Nano for my podcasts so I'm kind of thinking of the stretchy sleeve type as I can put my key in there too (though I've got a tiny pocket in my capris) plus I've still got the option to take my phone if I want to.

My wife and I both got decent, but inexpensive armbands from monoprice -- my only complaint is that out of the box mine was a bit tight even at its loosest -- it it has stretched out some.

I have a New Balance armband that fits my iPhone 4s snuggly and has a key pocket. I would imagine that it would hold an iPod nano tight enough, but obviously can't guarantee it. I bought it from Target.

I have an Armpocket that is really nice. It can fit keys, some cash, an ID and my iPhone. It fits snugly on my arm, and I hardly know it's there. That said, lately I've just been carrying my phone because my running skirts have a zipper pocket that I can stick everything in. I like having my phone out so I can switch back and forth between apps (I'm using C210K, Zombies, Run! and MapMyFitness all at the same time).
