Recipes & Food Storage

I love food. Since I had my surgery, I'm on the lookout for quick and easy recipes that fit in my recovery phase (full liquid / pureed foods).

I was told to switch from regular yogurt to Greek yogurt because it has more protein. It's also not as sweet - yay! I found it freezes well too.

My new creation is Stonyfield Greek vanilla yogurt & fresh strawberries. Wash & cut about 7 medium to large strawberries and place in a mini food chopper. Add the yogurt. Mix on High until completely incorporated; it should look like soup.

Now - pour the mixture into a freezer-safe container (more on this later). Place in the freezer for a few hours or overnight. Enjoy.

Food Containers

My nutritionist recommended this to me:

They are containers with freezer cores. She had one that holds a snack in the bottom, and a dip in the lid core. Perfect for veggies & hummus. I high-tailed it to Five Below (link above) and found that one and a double stacker that holds yogurt in the bottom. It's in the freezer right now with my yogurt creation. They have a bunch of others for drinks, salads, cereals...

Great idea! I look forward to trying it. I wondered how to "stir up" those greek yogurts so I could freeze them. Anyone else try this? Any other recipes?
