Pestering Self

Often times whenever I accidentally overeat-whether it's because of something stressful going on in my life or because I just can't resist the urge to eat-I end up feeling all of that possible weight that I could gain settle on me and it leads to these absurd thoughts of "I'm so fat" or "You're just going to get fat again" or "No more (insert food name here) for you for a while".
I want to stop thinking these kinds of things when I overeat and just be able to tell myself that it was just one day I messed up and that I should stop stressing about it.
How does someone actually do that?
