Leptin and Ghrelin

So my brainy daughter who is in nursing school (soon to be premed) and a keto nut kept telling me to research this but science bores me to tears (she got her dad’s genes). I’m watching videos on these hormones and finding it really interesting. So far it looks like LCHF diet will help with good levels of both these hormones.a few questions if anyone knows:
1. Can I get these levels tested through blood work or will my doc think I’m crazy for asking for it
2. I saw the pills are useless and the injections only work on a very tiny sliver of the population who can’t make leptin so what foods are the best for increasing leptin? It looks like almonds, eggs, green tea and broccoli?
3. What are the bullet points for someone who is science dense like me that I need to know about these newly discovered hormones?
4. Are there any you tube channels that have good info on this? The ones I watched seemed to have good info but they look like they were made in someone’s basement or bathroom and are very kitschy.
Thanks for any advice! Hopefully someone will read this who has knowledge to share.

Stephan Guyenet has many interviews on youtube. He is a PhD who studies/researches obesity. He's not a keto or low carb guy but I'm quite confident he knows what he is talking about in regards to obesity. I'm sure there are some who would like to nitpick but not many.
Just type Stephan Guyenet and leptin in a google search and you'll get a load of info.1 -
A relatively simple explaination, but sometimes keeping it simple is better:

I’m all about simple - especially when it comes to science and math. I’m a writer and musician!

Following. I have been reading pub med studies on menopause and ghrelin (and leptin). Long story short: menopause messes with ghrelin levels, and *apparently* transdermal hormones help that a bit.1

It must be glitching. It sometimes works. On the site, now I have to refresh the page after posting before the edit gear will show up. : unamused:
Edit: Aha! Same deal with the app. Refresh the post and it will appear. That's dumb. Oh well...1 -
I thought maybe they were optimizing for mobile devices now.... but I guess not. They aren't optimizing for anything anymore lol.2
