Sunday night, I went back and read posts that I had missed. Here is a post that we all need to read by @Ketch_22. It was posted 6/15...
"Yes January of 2018 I was 181 and my son bought me a fitbit and I got to 168 and joined MFP setting a goal to 150. Originally, I thought I'd just drop some weight and that would be it. Sad but I had just resigned to "oh well, I'm older and gaining a little is part of aging". Long story but one thing led to another and I became (as you have said) hyper-focused on macros and numbers. Hard to believe 145 might be on the table. 135 is what I weighed at 22 so that seems way to vain for me to ask for. I so appreciate all the nice comments in this group, as many have said it's nice to share this journey. My every day people don't seem as thrilled with the topic. At times my kids (all 20+) will walk in and see me using my weights and I swear they look at me like I'm standing naked or something. My daughter is thin and very fit and I can lift more, squat more and plank longer than her. We are starting a yoga class next week and I'm secretly hoping to kick her butt since I'm more flexible than her. Not sure if you need to be flexible for yoga (another thing I've never considered so thanks UAC). Thanks for sharing your story it gives me inspiration. Side note, I rode english 3x a week when I was 135 no one realizes the amount of strength in arms, legs and core required. Kudos!"
Thanks so much for sharing your inspiring story with us!!
Rick

Exercised?: Yes. (3km in 24 mins)

Long work day before a busy weekend.
June 15
Exercised?: Yes. (20mins walking while waiting for daughter at roller hockey)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Wife out for the day and daughter had roller hockey, so I was playing chauffeur and chaperone.
Also setting up for new style drone comp on the Sunday
June 16
Exercised?: Yes. (Drone comp setup and pack up)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Long exhausting day running new format drone comp.
Flew well. Found out in-goggle recording not working after the day, so no video unfortunately. (unless I extract from the onsite recording system).
June 17
Exercised?: No. (intended bodyweight, but too exhaused)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
Busy work day, but was planning bodyweight in the evening. Too tired so will take the pass for the day.
Daughters 16th birthday tomorrow.
Thought for the day: "Doing is learning, but learning is not doing".
This in essence means act and learn along the way. Don't get caught in "analysis paralysis".
Too many people know "everything" about weight management, but do not implement what the know because it's too hard. Don't listen to those who "know" but don't "do". Listen to those who "do" and by doing have learned by action what they "know".

I am back from our trip to Isle Royale National Park and will be checking in periodically throughout the month. Definitely not the winner's circle this month but want to stay in touch. The trip was wonderful and Michigan is absolutely beautiful! We didn't see any moose, but did see several bald eagles.12 -
@ShareASmile Absolutely gorgeous pics! Appears to be just a delightful place to be to unplug and simply enjoy the glory of our parks. Thank you for sharing.4

Beautiful photos, @ShareASmile!
Taking a planned pass today. Just need to clear my mind and take a little break. See you all tomorrow.6 -

@Craigo3154, excellent points, as always. The times when I'm not doing so well on the health front, I still know what I need to do, I'm just not doing it. Definitely a trap I am working hard not to fall into now. (Slip ups and imperfection are totally okay, but I don't want to simply ignore the requirements for success. Happy birthday to your daughter!
@Ketch22, human beings are funny. I think the one thing that would help us out the most (apart from widespread empathy) is learning not to compare ourselves to others, because if we could all do that, we would never be threatened by other people's success. The number of people who react negatively to other people's health achievements always makes me sad. (Not saying that's necessarily what's going on with your kids, just as an all-too-common generalisation.) Also, on a light note, the first time I read "At times my kids (all 20+)", I thought for a sec that you were saying that you had more than twenty kids, and I was momentarily stunned until I figured out that was their age.6 -

Pass #3
Unintentional day of no exercise. Just listening to my body and it’s telling me to eat and sleep which has been my entire day.
Everyday as far as the eye can see is super busy so I embraced this opportunity to rest and regroup.
I had to tell myself that skipping a day at the gym doesn’t mean I’m never going back and eating up to maintenance calories isn’t going to destroy my progress.

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes. I tried a new class today - a lot of squats and legs. That part went great! The core work had some issues - I had to modify (I have Diastasis and PF issues), but it was a really good 40 min workout. I then walked for 20 minutes after!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes6 -
Today, yes, yes, yes. HIIT spinning class + yoga.
As for the past couple days, not so much. Wife's family in from out of town was all the excuse I needed. 🤪. UAC helps pull me back up on the wagon. Friday morning I was at a new scale victory. Lowest in decades. So overall I am feeling pretty good.9 -
