In the middle of the month, it's good to pause; look up from your scale; and celebrate a Non-Scale-Victory!!
What is going well with you?

This is my NSV for June. A 68 year old grandfather and his 11 year old grandson, Evan, after a 2 hour tandem kayak river trip. Grandpa was the primary engine both upcurrent and back. It was a great day and I’m so happy to be fit enough to enjoy sharing this experience with Evan.17 -
Looks like is was a wonderful grandparent/grandchild experience!1

NSV - after some initial ups and downs after reaching goal in January, it seems that I have found the key to on-going consistency in maintenance. Feels really good to have achieved a new normal and to not be so hyper-focused with this area of my life.10

Tracked: Yes
Calories: Yes, had to dip into exercise calories, hungry day
My NSV is that I made it through a frustrating bout of illness without eating sweets “for energy”, or other forms of comfort eating. I also did some form of exercise for all but my two worst days, good for my mental health and probably helped with sleeping. The extra nudge that accountability gives really makes a difference. Thanks to Rick and this awesome community.
Looks like energy is a common NSV. Congrats everyone! And @Ketch_22 seeing muscles you haven’t seen in a while is a huge one!8 -

Today was a welcome day of rest after a full week of pushing myself to catch up after our son's wedding and related holiday. I'm going to bed early tonight and I'll happily sleep in on Saturday morning. I chose to take today as a chore day and a Pass day. I did not track nor exercise; It was not an overeating pass day.

I tour the world on YouTube which gives me all kinds of ideas for vacations. Hoping our next adventure will be to central Europe.
My NSV would be the equivalent of 2 months of logging in without interruption and continued success with maintenance; but I do need to focus more on good nutrition. Each of your posts encourages me to be diligent, without which sustainability would be more challenging. Thank you, all, for your participation!5 -

NSV is how healthy and strong im becoming. Today i did boot camp, and even was able to do a light jog, my knee is finally getting back to normal. I gardened for 4 straight hours, doing lots of heavy lifting. Ended the say with a dog walk! Its awesome to be the strongest ive ever been, especially at the age of 39.
Its an odd silver lining to have spent most of my 20's and 30's overweight. Friends around me are worried about aging, but im getting better by the year9 -

Loving the comments for the NSV's.
Today we went to a function we go to yearly. There is a long flight of stairs. I easily went up and down them many times without a thought of taking the escalator without even breathing hard. At one point my husband asked me if I was going to a fire. He usually leaves me In the dust but not today. NSV for me.8 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 47 minutes of full body strength this morning
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and slightly under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!
I absolutely love the NSV thread -- always so inspiring!
I actually had an NSV this morning. When I strength train, I actually wear a 6 lb weighted vest. Until you do this, you have absolutely no clue what an extra 6 lbs can do to you. LOL This morning my workout included one minute of just burpees -- repeated four times. I HATE burpees and I actually rocked these out, with a weighted vest on. LOL I definitely found beast mode this morning -- never would have happened 50 lbs heavier!10 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 30 minutes on the treadmill, walking/fast walking and an incline. Better than nothing!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and well-under with no exercise calories
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
My NSV is that I wore a dress yesterday that was too small a month ago!7 -
@molly3210
At 42 I’m in the best shape of my life and feel like it just keeps getting better. I was also overweight through most of my 20’s & 30’s.
I’m happy that you also made the decision to change and get to experience a new lease on life for your 40’s5 -
Great, NSVs everyone. Very motivating. Yes x 3 for me.3

That's so awesome Lala! Definitely lots to look forward to. I love that your NSV was being scooped up by your hubby. That really is a huge deal. Ill put it on my bucket list, i want a piggyback ride darnit! Lol
Also love reading about all the rockstar, 'beast mode' things that people do here at all ages. Makes me excited for the future, and actually want to challenge myself to see how much more my body can do4 -
Love reading everyone's NSVs. They're so inspiring--and it's just plain awesome to see the many ways that this journey is making people happy. Reading about all of you who are drastically improving your quality of life as you get older is definitely motivating, since the aging part is inevitable. Thinking about it in terms of the positives it can bring instead of negatives is a wonderful change from how it is often portrayed. (Though I know there are still frustrations and challenges with aging as well.)
For my own NSVs, I've had more people commenting on my weight loss (including slightly random people, like my super, whom I normally only see once a week or so, to wave at when I've leaving for or coming home from work). I'm more confident about my body and physical fitness, so I've been seizing new opportunities and trying out new workouts, like a Powwow workout (think Zumba but indigenous), a Meditation & Movement class, a free HIIT class, etc. I'm also fitting into most of my "small" clothes now. I'm not quite to goal (either in terms of weight or inches) yet, but I'm getting close enough to that range that I can get almost everything on, even if some isn't quite comfortable yet. Several of the costumes that I have planned for the Harry Potter conference I'm going to need to be pinned or taken in a little to fit now (whereas they were too small in January). The two 5Ks I ran this year (one at the end of May, one at the beginning of June) were my two fastest 5Ks ever (the second only by one second, but I will take it!) I enjoy feeling strong and capable while I still have ongoing goals that I continue to work towards. ^_^8 -
Such amazing NSV’s! My eyes are a little watery reading all of these!3
