Motivation

Let's talk about motivation! What doe it take to get you motivated to exercise, eat a healthy diet, or both? Some people are self motivated and just naturally do the right thing and then there are others of us who really need a source of motivation. I would like to hear from you about WHAT that thing or those things that motivate you to do it. Is it a visit to the doctor and the fear of that possible heath condition? Is it doing what's best for you to motivate your children or to be around for them? Or is it someone who motivates you? Maybe there is someone who has done it and you feel like, heck if that person can do it then so can I. Or you have a friend who is in the process and you just need a partner to keep you motivated. Either way, lets hear it...WHAT IS YOU MOTIVATION???

okay, i've been having a really hard staying motivated. over the last year and half, i have had a lot of struggles since my mom passed away and went to be with the Lord. at times, its hard to be motivated to do anything. caring for my mom and supporting her and my dad as he took excellent care of her over the last few years of her life was my only focus. i thank God for my parents and the privilege to be able to be there for them in any way that i can, because God knows - they have and are always there for me. i thank God for my mom (affectionately called Peppermint Patty) and who she is in my life. as I am learning to get to my new normal without her being physically present, i am embracing the activities and lifestyle that I once enjoyed.

i am usually pretty active (not nearly as much I can be or used to be, but still active) and enjoy getting out from time to time having a good time with those closest to me. as i prepare for my December wedding and honeymoon, I want to look and feel my absolute best. even when i was much thinner, i have always been self conscious about my large breasts -- so i have NEVER EVER EVER worn a bikini. My goal is to wear a bikini on my honeymoon AND feel good/confident in it. My honey loves me for me and just the way I am, faults, frailties, and all - so its not about changing who I am. But I want to be a better, healthier, more satisfied Donna, just for me. I want to wow him when we roll out to St. Lucia!

Another thing that is motivating me - as i look around and see all of us getting older and we now are having fewer and fewer older relatives ( i grew up with both my grandmothers -paternal and maternal, a grandfather, and a great-grandmother)..... i want to live my best life. They lived a healthy active lifestyle. They had their fun and their vices, but I plan to position myself to grow old gracefully and as full of vibrance as possible. Some illnesses we cannot prevent; others we can. My goal and motivation is to live a long healthy life for myself and loved ones, God willing.
