I am starting to think Gut Microbiome should be the main focus to better health and longer life. While I know ketones are good for gut microbiome I know it was more than ketones that started my health recovery back in 2014. In my case I am sure my "keto Flu" was in a great part due to the die off of negative microbes in my gut. My pain started to drop right after what I expect was the initial die off around week two of ketosis. The more I learn I think most all mental and physical may be diet related. It was interesting changing the diet was more beneficial than just adding probiotics to the current WOE.

    @Luciicul I do not think ketones help the gut microbiome perhaps directly but clearly there are different thoughts on the good question that you raised. It seems it is the keto diet NOT the ketones that alter the gut microbiome in a more healthy direction perhaps. In Congestive Heart Failure ketones can make the heart 25% more efficient but I do not see that as a gut microbiome related thing but type of energy thing.

    While the value of the ketone level if any is not known perhaps the value of the Keto foods making up the diet seem to be concretely positive for the gut microbiome.
