Working out while injured

In the past, I have never let injuries keep me from working out. I always listened to my body, adjusted where needed, and pushed through. Finally realized I just can’t do that anymore. I have an issue with my ankle that is just not getting better
Pulled back from working out entirely which made me feel terrible. Finally worked out in the water today
Feel better now that I’ve moved but stll having issues with the mental side of it all

I have done water aerobics myself when recovering from a crushed pelvis (ascending ramis). I just do what I can for sure.

@RedSassyPants - hope your ankle heals up soon. Water exercise is a great way to get activity in while rehabbing.

I totally understand the mental side of not being able to do the activities that you were used to doing.

I am sorry you are hurting but glad you can now workout in the pool. When I was a runner rehabbing injuries properly was not my strong suit.

I totally understand. My running career ended with an Achilles Tendon injury that took a year to get better. Had to find other methods of activity, and swimming provided the best option.

    I hope you heal quickly.

I hear that. I injured my Achilles running on the treadmill. My cat decide to join me and I injured myself trying not to step on him
    That took a year recovery
Injured my ankle before I could even think of running again

That mental challenge is brutal for me too. I have some minor injuries, and my doctor told me to stop most exercising while they heal. Thank goodness he’s letting me go for walks and bike rides.
