Chronic pancreatitis and diabetes.

Hi. I haven’t posted here in quite awhile, because things were going pretty well. Because of an error during a routine gallstone removal, I have to deal with chronic pancreatitis and diabetes. The latest flare has lasted nearly two months, one day terrible pain, then fluids, a few days pain free, repeat.
I saw my specialist the other day and he said “ your pancreas is like a war zone”. Most of it has atrophied, the ducts are dilated. I’ll be going for an MRI just to confirm that no other nasty stuff is happening.
In the meantime, he said very low fat, and six small meals a day instead of three. Spread the fat out during the day.
So, long story short, and here’s where I may need some help.
I take insulin with every meal, and it’s determined by the number of carbs in a meal. The ratio is 20:1. Does anyone have a similar situation, and how do you figure out how to administer your insulin.
