Huh. I'm actually surprised I had any reduction. I haven't been logging food, but just taking less food than normal onto my plate. I even put some back once or twice after I took it. I think it's just habit . . then I think, "I don't need that much". And I really don't. I'm sure my metabolism has slowed as I've aged. I know I can't work as hard or as long, so of course I'm burning fewer calories.
Well, Monday was trainer, Tuesday I made food to freeze for kiddos and then we had our "date day", today hubby is out with fellow retirees from his work . . so . . the room is still unpainted, lol! Maybe we'll get to it soon, maybe not. I'm going to get a walk done come hell or high water today!
Hope you all get some activity too.

If I wanted to maintain this weight, I'm sure I would have a hard time doing so. But because I want to be less than this, it seems like I'm stuck.
It was so hot here yesterday that hubby and I waited until 11:15 p.m. to walk, and even then, 30 minutes was the most we could do because it was still in the 80s and the humidity was really high. We had planned to go to the pool around dark, but there was thunder rumbling in the distance. And the guards clear the water the first time they hear thunder. Hearing about your friends who were struck by lightening makes me realize that that is indeed what they should do.
I am trying to be more vigilant about weighing and measuring food and getting it logged, and I'm seeing that I'm pretty much eating what it takes to be 143 pounds. Your idea, Sheesh, of putting back a little bit sounds like something that might help. I tend to always put about the same amount of food on my plate, so if I did that but then returned about a quarter of it, that might be a start.
Well, taking a break between meetings but need to get back to work.

Sarah, a quarter of a pound is a good reduction.
We need to think outside the box at this point. I've learned that what worked in the past doesn't work as well (or at least not as quickly) as it used to. We're short and older, so I'm searching for new methods. I figure the "serving size" on most foods is probably for an average height and weight man, so that's just not going to work for weight reduction for me.
The heat is on this summer! I get hot and worn out in the afternoons, so the mornings are the only time to exert for me. Other than my trainer on Mondays and Thursdays and a little walking after, I'm not getting a lot of activity. Working in the yard and at the cabin is hard work, but just not really "exercise". I plan to mix things up and get a new program going on August 1. Our summer plans thin out that month and I'll be able to devote focus to it. Who wants to join me? Let's think about what we believe we need to tweak and share it here.
Have a great weekend!0 -
I'm in for the August "push." And yes--we short women do have special challenges. That's how the original SNS group was started in what--2010? Remember Ziggymoon, the first team leader who worked at a car wash? She was one of the most articulate carwashers ever! Mentioning car washes, hubby loaded the back of the car with bottles of cold gatorade and took them to the people who work at our neighborhood car wash. It's dangerously hot here today.
And don't discount that yard work. That burns more calories than a lot of things we might do because it uses different muscles. I just wish it was cool enough for me to do some. I still have a couple of container gardens I haven't done this year.
I had IT problems again today for about two thirds of the day. I thought that was over! The tech told me today that the number of people who are teleworking on Fridays in the summer is taxing the servers on top of other issues with that migration to the cloud. Jiminy Christmas! Leave me on earth! LOL So I'm just finishing work at 7 p.m., and I hardly got anything done.
Oh well.Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Feeling a bit cranky and telling on myself. Something is going on with my right knee. It hurt to walk last night. I didn't do much since we went for a night swim, but I noticed it. Then a few minutes ago, hubby was downloading some pictures from an old computer to a thumb drive and he told me to take a close look at one. When I knelt down to get at eye level, serious pain shot down my entire leg! And to top it off, my hairdresser cut my hair too short this morning and I feel like my three chins are just so noticeable! I guess all in all these are quality problems, but I need to get in a better mood. Some of those pics were from when I was near my lowest "bodybug" weight in 2010, so at least those are incentive.
Tomorrow we have both a sad event and a happy event. The first is a wake. The sister of a friend of ours died of an overdose. She was one of the those people you'd never suspect would have this happen to them. She was a high school teacher and when we met her at our friend's wedding in January, she seemed like a normal, delightful person. Thankfully that is in the the afternoon and in the evening we have a birthday party to attend and we'll see friends we don't get to see very often anymore.
Hope everyone is staying cool.0 -
Happy Saturday Ladies. Sorry to be so quiet this week. Crazy busy which is good and exhausting. New employees, more sales (YAY) and preparing to start new homes in the next couple of weeks.Good busy.
Sara - we’ve got the heat and the humidity is starting to kick up. I wake up to 80+ and it’s been over 110 all week. Yard work consists of turning on the water for the planter and the pool (I think we have a leak somewhere in the pool - we’re losing more water than usual). I’m in for an August restart/focus. My weight is sadly bgetting closer and closer to my highest and I’m very disappointed in myself for that. It will take steps to get back in program and I’m a little proud of me...this morning I did get on my bike for all of 10 minutes...not really pushing myself, just moving my legs. I didn’t have the fan set back up and wasn’t geared up as usual, just a pedaling for a few minutes.
OK Sheesh - I have to tell you that I broke down on Prime Day and bought a keyboard/case for my iPad. Using it today for the first time. Takes a little getting used to, but it may be set up the same as a Mac. I didn’t save a whole lot on it, so something you may want to think about for your iPad when hubby has control of the computer. It’s easier than the pencil - that I charge more than I use....lol
Hitting Red Lobster for dinner tonight - bday crab legs for me....YUM. Just me an hubby this year. With the everything that happened in the beginning of the year I’m in a bit of a funk and don’t want to plan or host much. Son DIL and Rhea may come up tomorrow for lunch - per hubby. Clar and Rhea come home from San Diego today so I’m not banking on it...they’ll probably be too tired and Clar starts back to work as a teacher this week. We’ll see. If they show up we’ll hit another restaurant. I’m not pulling out food for a maybe visit. I did pull out chicken and beef to defrost and cook for meal prep this week. I’ll shop first thing tomorrow morning (probably click list my food order again) - then I HAVE to go in the am and will have the fresh veggies we need.
Last week the PT used this wacky massager on me and hurt so good that I couldn’t go in for my next appt. Well that dang thing really broke up the knot and I’m feeling so much better. It’s still there, but not anywhere near as painful. Hoping I can get into therapy on Friday after work if it’s still bothersome. No time at all this week.
Kelly - hoping you’re having fun on your vacay and that you and Shawn are still focused! Even tho I haven’t been able to post this week, I have jumped on to ready what’s going on.0
