    Good morning!

    Glad your first day went well kate! Hope those kids stay on their best behavior or hoping you’ve learned some tricks to keep them in line ;)

    Rotisserie chickens are awesome Meghan I agree! I must have missed them yesterday!!! It’s just amazing that store... the rich cheese section!!! And all the different olives at the olive bar!! However....... MY hubs saw the pizza and didn’t have the same reaction to it like I did when I first saw it!! He thought it had too much crust on the edge! Omg! So no pizza for dinner!! I cooked up chicken fillets in balsamic dressing to go with a salad... again!! *sigh*

    I haven’t tried swerve yet as I haven’t found it in my stores.. I’ve tried Truvia... and didn’t really like it. What I have found that I do really like is something called Monk Fruit Sugar.... here’s a link

    I sprinkle this on top of my toasted pecans right in the hot pan.., the stuff liquifies, toss to coat and lay out on wax paper to cool and the pecans have a beautiful shiny sweet coating great for that spring mix salad with strawberry goat cheese, red onion & balsamic dressing! Oh, & sprinkle chia seeds of course!! When I need this to be powdered sugar, I whip it up thoroughly in my nutribullet for a bit!! Then melt in butter with cocoa for a fat bomb! Omg those were good! (I’ll stop now ;) )

    I don’t feel like doing anything today and it’s only 10:30 am! Uh oh!!

    TGIF!!! The first few days are always weird. Long bouts of nothing with bursts of frantic activity. Next week should even out, the kids will start to show their true colors and we will be able to accommodate accordingly. My college classes start Monday. Fun times.
    I am swollen from all the extra activity I have been doing and the latest bout of hot weather, but I am WAY under calories for the week. I will be interested to see if I lose on Sunday or not. Still not sure why I haven't been very hungry lately. But I will take it!

    I LOVE rotisserie chickens! I buy them a lot in the winter and throw a salad and a side with it for a quick dinner and then use the leftover chicken for enchiladas or casserole later in the week.

    Ugh had a nice post and lost it. Stupid tablet!
    Lost 2.8 pounds this week! Very happy.
    Took a vacation day today and had a lovely beach day. B) Tomorrow we will celebrate his birthday at a friend's house.
    Sounds like Whole Foods was good @mamainthekitchen. Thanks for the link. I will check it out!

    WOO HOO! Lost a pound this week! Only 54 more to go! LOL
    I think the thing that was making me not as hungry was, sadly, not having breakfast. I love breakfast. I am a hobbit. I love second breakfast, too. But, if I want to be healthy and lose some weight, I am going to have to give it up for a while. :'( I will experiment this week to confirm my suspicions.

    Had a great weekend! Monday here we are sigh... LOL Hope everybody is doing well!

    Congrats on your loss @KateNkognito! Yes, I hear you about breakfast. When I was eating more carbs especially, I would find that I would be hungry and ready for lunch mid day, vs. without it I was more like "oh it's time for lunch!?"

    @mamainthekitchen I found Monk Fruit sweetener at my local TJ Maxx / Marshall's over the weekend and I tried some today in my coffee. I LOVE IT! I actually like it better than the Swerve sweetener I picked up on Amazon recently. Will keep the Swerve for dessert recipes, as it tastes a little sweeter (too sweet?), otherwise Monk Fruit it is! Thanks for mentioning it recently.

    The weekend went really well. On Saturday we had plans to go over a friend's house to celebrate my guy's birthday and of course hang out, catch up with friends. Luckily they were doing a BBQ so it worked out well for Keto. We brought a Keto Friendly salad, some cheese, and some rolled cold cuts and cheese. For dinner we had proteins and salad. Skipped the corn, crackers, sugary alcoholic beverages, and cake. :)

    Yesterday I ended up doing a fast that had started after dinner on Saturday night 8:00pm or so, until 5:00pm Sunday. Only thing I had during that time was some coffee with half and half and some water. Honestly didn't feel bad at all on Sunday. We shared a salad with grilled chicken and mozzarella cheese for late lunch / early dinner and the whole day flew and I didn't get in my full calories but wasn't sweating it. Turned in to a Light Day!

    Planning to stick to my calorie goals and continue on Keto this week and going forward. Really liking it. :smiley:

    Wow oh wow! I have found those few pounds you two have lost!! :s About 3 in total!! Argh!!

    Glad you like the Monk Fruit sugar Meg!!! I had tried most of them including some liquid stuff! I’m sticking to the Monk Fruit too and have learned to pulverize the heck out of it when needing powdered type sugar. I seriously don’t know why everyone isn’t using it!! Your weekend sounded fun and healthy which makes for a positive week ahead I say!! Congrats on your loss!

    Kate, congrats on your loss too!! You’ve had such a busy week last week that you missed your breakfast making you an intermittent faster by default! That alone will help move the scales!

    I’ve written out quite a lengthy list of chores for me to accomplish today!! But I only want to watch that Downton Abby special i taped last night!!!! Sigh.... 3 hours worth!! Ha!

    Planning on a normal eating day today and fast day tomorrow!!

    I had a Monday of a Monday!! So I ate an ounce of cheddar. 640 calories total today. After a day like today, that is not just a win, it is the CHAMPIONSHIP!

    @Meghan509 You go, girl! A low carb BBQ *and* a fast in one weekend!

    @mamainthekitchen Sorry you found my missing pounds! I hope you got your To Do list DONE!

    Off to get some homework done and grumble about my day. Going to bed early to see if that makes tomorrow better!

    Was planning on fasting today.... I just may stick to that plan since I have quite a tummy ache! Not sure why, but also didn’t sleep well!!! So I feel like crap! I suppose that’s a perfect set up for a fast day :/
    I’ll probs go buy some broth! Ughh

    I came in super low calorie again today, even though I had breakfast. How few calories is too few? I am at 1,100 so far today. And I am not hungry.

    Good morning ladies!

    Hope all is well. Things are good here. :)

    Had a nice two mile walk last night around the park and the seaside, by our place last night. It was really sunny and warm, even after 6:00pm. I do love summer and I wish it would stick around longer, sniffle... Traffic is pretty quiet around these parts lately. I think the families are getting their last vacations in before school starts next week give or take.

    Still sticking to my Keto plan and liking the foods a lot. Been eating a lot of fish with this plan and I love it. I told my guy that I could eat tuna fish everyday! LOL

    I went for ice cream and I am still under my calories for the day! I think it must be a true miracle of God. There is seriously no way I could be doing this well otherwise.

    My coworker just walked by a little while ago with some hot toast and coffee. OMG the toast smelled amazing!! :p

    No toast for me. :) Still plugging along here on Keto. Loving it actually. We stopped by Costco last night and got a bunch of new stuff. Lots of good staples to be found at the big warehouse stores. Funny, I found the Monk Fruit Sweetener and it was $1 USD more than what I paid but it was 1.5 lbs vs. 1 lb. Next time I will get it there!

    I am sticking to 1200 calories a day and honestly most of the time it is hard to even hit that. Just really not hungry at all. Strange but nice!

    @Meghan509 I am the same way with calories lately. I get to the end of the day and I have a slice of cheese or something just to get me to 11-1200. No idea why, but I will take it! Glad you are having the same success!

    @mamainthekitchen Hope you are feeling better!

    I didn't fast today. I just felt kind of funky and didn't think a fast would work. I'm thinking I might try for one on Saturday. I hope everyone has a great Friday and a fabulous weekend!

    Good morning gang!

    Down just shy of a pound this week - 0.8. Brings my total to just shy of ten pounds after completing three weeks of Keto (Sunday will be the official end of the week, but I weigh Friday mornings). So far so good. Liking it a lot. And I will say that my pants are not feeling as snug! Still have a ways to go, but as they say the weight didn't come on over night, so it won't come off that way either. Patience. :)

    Something I can do better with, next week: Pay closer attention to my calories and macros (fat/carb/protein %'s) because I know for sure I was under on calories and / or protein often this week which isn't the best for Keto WOE. And get to the gym. Sure we had some nice walks outside but some gym consistency would not hurt either! And as much as I hate to think it, when the summer and beach season is over we will definitely get back to the gym on the weekends.

    Woo Hoo! Another pound down! I seriously do NOT know how I am doing so well, but I will take it! It truly has to be a miracle from God. I don't think hunger is related to breakfast. I experimented this week, and that didn't seem to be the link. I started taking a B-Complex vitamin a few weeks ago. Maybe that is it. Whatever it is, I am so happy!

    @Meghan509 Way to go on the loss! You are on a roll!

    I hope everyone is having a great weekend! It is cloudy and stormy here. I am going to get my assignments done and then curl up with a book.

    Good morning all!

    Congrats on your loss @KateNkognito! Woo hoo! Hope school is going well.

    We spent a really pretty weekend at the beach. Yesterday was kind of windy so we left a little earlier, but all in all good times, good times! Today is a little cooler - 60 degrees F when we opened the door this AM. Brrr. Sweater is on to help with over active office A/C as well.

    Planning a regular Keto week today. Though I see I may have to venture over 1200 calories today as I haven't put dinner in and I don't have much left. Got a nice salad today with bacon bits, avocado and blue cheese and I see its a little caloric. Whoops! :o

    Hope everything is good in your neck of the woods. Can you believe this is the last week of August?! Sniffle.

    Woohoo Kate!!! Congratulations!! I skip breakfast all the time - or have breakfast for lunch. Try to do a 16/8 type of fasting everyday... I was doing 18/6 for a few months there, but I've gone back to not logging anything etc... perhaps that's my problem and weight just sneaks up on me then! Lol on the B vitamins..... maybe I should give those a try too!! hahaa Hope you're settling into school nicely!

    Meghan I've had a beach weekend too except out weather was awesome! We had been invited to a friends cabin for the weekend and had such an awesome time!! Too much alcohol though! whoops :#B) Your salad sounds yummy but I know what you mean about caloric, but at least you've got good stuff in there which helps keep you full, so no snacking later? You're making me miss Keto now....

    Well after last week of not feeling too well for a couple of days, then feeling good again for the weekend, that's when I started splurging on everything yummy.... lots of appies all day long sort of weekend! Hopefully get back on track this week!!

    Tons of gardening to do with a dump truck full of bark mulch at the parents house tomorrow.... shoveling it up a hill!! good workout!!

    Well, sorry for the absence over the weekend, but sounds like everyone is on a roll. I'm hoping to fast on Wednesday this week and may only one day. Happy start of the week people and no Meg I cannot believe August is almost over !!! :'(:'(

    @KateNkognito hope your day ended up a good one!

    @mamainthekitchen yes, really enjoying the food this time around. I love all the healthy fats that are encouraged. Avocado, full fat mayo, nuts (in moderation), etc. Really helping me keep full.

    Funny thing is yesterday I thought I would be over on my calories, but I had logged something twice. So that helped fix it and then I was actually FULL at lunch and only ate half my tuna salad. Lunch is my first real meal of the day, so that was a different thing for me to be full after my salad. Salad was pretty hearty though!

    Yesterday and last night were good. We got to the gym after work, which is nice. I am a little sore today but it's all good. Got to get the blood flowing! Tonight I am making salmon for dinner. We may or may not go to the gym. Depends on how my guy's hip is feeling. He has some osteo arthritis and a slight tear in his hip. No fun getting older I tell ya!

    Things are good here. Rainy day, but don't mind so much when its a working day. :) Taking Friday off before the long weekend here (Labor Day Holiday in US on Monday, September 2). Tomorrow through Sunday look nice weather wise. Monday chance of showers. No biggie!

    Off to grab some water. Keto kinda makes me thirsty but I like it. :D

    Today is the first day in a couple of weeks that I have eaten my full calories. There were snacks at work and I had some, but I was reasonable. I am really looking forward to the long weekend. I will fast tomorrow. The weather is wonderful and I want to be able to enjoy the weekend. :) I hope you all have a wonderful end of the week!

    I feel like a puddle of goo. But I didn't overindulge in the freshly filled chocolate basket at work. Not being able to breathe or smell is a big help. Sometimes these children share just a little too much. I hope you all have a great weekend! Enjoy the extra day off, Meghan!

    Feeling better today, but I ate away my sorrows yesterday. Not expecting a loss tomorrow, given the current hormonal and mental state I am in. I am cool with that, though.

    Hi guys, I feel like I’m such a loser! I’m not regularly checking in, not logging, not fasting...not working out regularly...,what on earth am I doing!! I also haven’t weighed in about three weeks... there is no way I’m doing that! :'(

    I’ve got to get my bleep together!! Turning 60 Oct 5th and I don’t want to look all puffy for photos!! Ughhhh... weird how our minds work. Some days/months we’re positive focused and energetic, then other days and for weeks we’re.... in “this funk”. Well today I’m going to try my best to get out of this funky feeling. I actually feel a tad toxic like I need a water & broth fast!! I really wish my husband would do this with me, it’s not like I eat spaghetti etc when I cook for him, it’s just I’m too annoyed cooking 2 and 3 meals for each dinner (son can’t have all that pasta either so zoodles for him) that I start picking in stuff, or buying candy & eat it while I’m cooking and having wine while cooking... all that is my problem!! Sorry for my rant ;)

    Kate I’m wondering... here where I live it is mandatory to get a flu shot each year when working with the public... is that the case for you? As soon as my daughter was hired by the hospital (actually even in her schooling it’s mandatory) she gets a free flu shot (I pay $40) and she hasn’t had a cold in sooo long!! Just wondering if you get one? Hope you feel better though!

    Have fun at the beach Meghan!!! Don’t worry about the scale... do you take measurements? You may weigh the same but losing fat gaining muscle!!! We enjoy the same Labour Day Weekend except we spell ours the English way and put a “u” in there!! Haha..... Enjoy last long weekend of summer people.... I’ll try to make good choices!! xo

    Holy Cow! Somehow I lost two and a half pounds this week! What?! That makes almost 5 in 4 weeks. I was starting to slip in the motivation department, but that is the boost I needed.

    @mamainthekitchen I completely understand what you mean. I was in a deep funk for a while, too. You got this. Why is it that you want to lose weight? Do you need to? Do you just want to fast for the health reasons for a while and forget the other stuff? I might also suggest a nutritionist or something to make sure you are not deficient in something. I know I feel SO much better when I take the vitamins I need.
    I don't have to have the flu shot for work. Only health care workers do. But, honestly, it is the runny noses and colds that are the biggest problem with small children. I had allergies and that morphed into a sinus infection and moved to upper respiratory. One of these days I will have my own classroom and I can be a germ killing machine.

    I can mostly breathe again, so off to run some errands and then maybe clean this place. Boys smell funny.
