Officially peri-menopausal?

I think I'm having hot flashes. It's happening now a few times a week. I got home from work today and it was really hot outside. I got the mail, walked in and did a few things. The A/C already made the house cool and was still on, blowing cold air. I sat down to look at some mail and immediately started sweating and felt hot. I didn't feel hot outside of the house! I had to turn the A/C colder and turn on a fan. This is happening a lot. I have to open windows in the morning and stand in front of them in order to drink my coffee. I wake up most mornings sweatty.

I guess the real test will be if this continues during the winter?

Yep, those sound like hot flashes - do you feel like your body is about to self-combust, and all you want to do is rip your clothes off and jump into your freezer?! If 'yes', then it's a hot flash. Do you get them at night? I'm 3 years into menopause, and my hot flashes are diminishing in number and in frequency.....the worst is in the winter when you're driving - you have your winter coat on - and the heat on - and you get a hot flash - you can't take your coat off while you're driving.....you quick flip the AC on, roll the windows down....ARGH, it's hell......

Hi - is this a full group? I'm struggling to loose weight with perimenopause & looking for ladies at the same place in life.

@aidydh sounds similar to me! I wore summer tops & layers to work all last year. The kids (I'm UK secondary teacher) looked at me like I was mad when I peel of the layers in the cold weather!!

@beckyrpl love the description- pretty much sums it up.

My worst flash point at the moment is 4am in the morning!!! I'd love a full night's sleep.

Yes, I do feel the heat coming from the inside out. It seems to be concentrated in my head, face, and chest. I get them most of the time at night, but now it's happening in the morning and during the day.

I take an herbal pack from Nature's Sunshine to control hot flashes, it's called Natural Changes...for me it keeps them totally away.

Sounds like hot flashes to me!

I just had a series of them, while in a heat wave, in Asia. NOT my idea of fun!
