182.6 this morning.... I tell you it's been such a challenge to get in the 170 :-) hoping soon.
My back is better. I do have a chiropractor appointment on Monday. Unfortunately couldn't get in earlier.
Incredibly challenging and stressful time at work right now. Lots of layoffs lots of change. Getting a new boss. I probably should have had the job :-) water under the bridge.
Taking a much-needed half day today I'm driving down to the beach with one of my best friends to stay overnight at our girlfriends house who lives at the beach. It'll be a real quick trip but always feel so rejuvenated by hanging out with these ladies :-) just what the doctor ordered!
Happy Friday!
Karen0 -
Karen, glad your back is better. Hope the chiropractor helps. Have fun at the beach.
134.6 at 5:30 this morning. Rest Day for us. I do have a session w/our trainer in a bit, tho.
Chris0 -
135.6 at 5:00 this morning. Walked 3.53 miles in 70 mins. Got the boys this morning while DDD and SIL help his dad and step mother move.
Chris0 -
Chris he told us a week ago. Earlier in the spring I found out they got a marriage license. A friend of mine issued it to them and told me about it. But when I asked they said that they decided to wait until next spring. I went. They had it about a 35 minute drive out of town. Natural bridge. Beautiful place. They were disorganized though. It was dark by the time the ceremony was over. There were some lights but not many. And my granddaughter was cold. She didn't bring a jacket since it was supposed to be at 6:00. Almost 8:00 when they were finished. The cake was not cut. But everyone did seem to enjoy themselves. Her dress was lovely. No pictures. My daughter took a video. The bride's son was taking photos. I heard them say it was a practice run. The big one is in the spring! Duh, what is that? They are married just hours and talking about doing it again? I am not going for a repeat.
Sorry, got carried away.
Karen so sorry you were passed over. Hugs to you. Have fun on the beach and walk it off some.
I think my oldest mandarin is not long for this earth. He stopped eating. Not sure how old he is. I have had him around 8 years and he was full grown when I got him.the
Shell0 -
How long is a marriage license good for where they live? Calif has a 90 day limit. Crazy to be talking about a re-do. Hope your mandarin gets better. Eight years seems like a long time for a fish. I'm so impressed. Sending good fish thoughts to him.
We didn't walk this morning. Someone...not saying who (but it wasn't me)...wanted to sleep in. So 134.0 this morning at 7:00. I'm good with that. No real plans for today. Maybe the grocery store and reading.
Chris0 -
Chris I did not see my fish today.
Very unusual for him. Yeah he is older. But I wish I knew for sure what happened. I have to wonder if he ate a bristle worm. They are nasty. But also part of the clean up crew. He was looking the same as always on Friday. Beck even yesterday morning. Two of clowns fish are older. And his girlfriend has been with me longer. And thanks, I really strive to give them a full life.
The two angels I got last year are still half their adult size. I hope to have them for over 10 years. My anemone might be dividing. It looks to have two months now. I don't even know how long I have had him. Longer than any other critter. I recently had a snail that I had for years pass away.
143.2 today.
Sounds like someone, not you, needed some extra sleep.
And yes, I have no idea what they are thinking about.

187.4 this morning. I’m back. Memphis was fun. We visited a lot of museums as the city is full of African American history as well as music history. We went to the Star museum, the Rick and Soul museum as well as the Blues Hall of fame...fun, fun, fun. We also visited the Lorraine Motel, the site of MLK Jr. assassination. It is now their National Civil Rights Museum. Very powerful yet sad at the same time.
We had some very good food and walked a lot. Including the Big River Crossing over the Mississippi River. It’s a bridge that starts in Memphis but when you reach the other side you’re in Arkansas. A mile each way in 90 degree heat. It was hotter there than Atlanta. The concert at the Orpheum (built in 1928 and very well preserved)was amazing... Gladys Knight and Jeffrey Osborne. I think we’re stalking him.
Unpacking and laundry today to repack for my birthday trip. Ron is so excited to get to the beach. He wants to go snorkeling. We leave Thursday.
Hope you all are doing well! October will be my month to stay home and recharge. Concentrate on health, fitness and rest.

Kathy that sounds like it was loads of fun and interesting. I love museums also. I went to a Native American museum in Spokane WA. It is also sad at the same time. I hate when culture is lost. But you can't have progress without some culture being lost. but I do hope you stop stalking people. Not very dignified.
I love your leggings, sports pants, not sure what people are calling them now.the background is amazing. I so want to travel a little when I retire. Not overseas. Done that. 7 years in Europe and 3 in Okinawa. I have lived so many places in the states. But there are so many more I would like to see. I would like to visit places that I have friends in or near. That way I can a guide for a fabulous meal.
You have fun snorkeling. Remember, just like swimming. Don't over think it. And Ron will be there to help guide you.
Weight is still at 143.2 Going to hit 142 this week.
Shelley0 -
Glad you had a blast, Kathy! Traveling is not for me. Guess moving around so many times when I was a kid did it for me. Plus I have direction dysfunction and motion sickness. I get lost then throw up.
136.0 at 4:00 a.m. I'm going to stick with Sat or Sun weigh ins since we sleep in a little longer. I was 134.0 Sun at 7:00 a.m. which is a big difference in my head.
Chris1 -
Chris that is so sad, but I admit to lau
ghing. I can just see you. I am so lost I could just puke!
I know I shouldn't laugh...But I am. Lol, yes sleep in and then weigh in.
Kathy have a great trip. Enjoy snorkelling with Ron. He is going to be so happy to show you something he loves.
142.8 this morning. I even had a candy bar last night. So I am looking into being able to measure the levels of light spectrum in my large tank. At different depths it will have differing intensities. Even the center will be brighter than the sides. Corals differ in the amount they need. Kind of like how much sun verses shade a hosta verses a hibiscus need. Going to turn my large tank into a reef tank. The fish will love it. The new fish are doing well in quarantine.

DDD laughs now but not back then. The kids didn't really like going with me if I hadn't been to the destination before. They pretty much knew what would happen. I got lost in the housing project across the street from our house. When I came out I thought I was on Gentrytown and DDD (16 years old) said, "No, Mom. Turn left here, then turn right at the stop sign and we'll be on Gentrytown."
136.0 this morning at 4:00. We walked then got the boys. It's been a fun morning.
Chris0 -
I get lost a lot. Just the way I am.
My sister gives me crap over it. We are going to go look at some different property tonight. About to back out of it since the owner can't seem to get the title to the trailer. I am not doing his foot work for him! If he wants the land sold he should be ready to sale it. There are larger plots of land I would be happier with anyway!
142 even this morning. I am good with that. Now to get more into lifting again.
Shelley0 -
Hi ladies. Good WiFi here. Here’s a couple of photos of the resort.

Look at those lawns! You could golf on them they are so perfect. And the pool is wonderful. Have you swam in it yet Kathy?
Shelley0 -
WOW!!! Fantastic pics, Kathy!
134.6 this morning at 5:30. No walking Rest Day.
Chris1 -
Kathy - Looks amazing! Have a blast!
Super hectic week at work..only got to work out 3 times total (once during the work week...yikes!). The scale shows it.
Really struggling with later eating and carbs...likely this crazy work stress! I scheduled a massage tonight...which should help definately working out today and tomorrow!
Karen1 -
Karen that massage sounds wonderful.
Going to the hot tub tonight. I need to relax also. Looks like we are going to sign for the mountain property after all on the 30th. They offered to take off $2,000. for our trouble. I countered with $5,000. And they accepted. I know the hoops to get a title. So now we will have 2.3 acres to camp on whenever we want. What a great place to go for a walk. So much wildlife up there. And our property has lots of trees. Now to decide on a cabin.
Oh, 141.2 this morning. Just have really are under my calories this week. Having a cheat day and back at it tomorrow.
Shell0 -
Good job, Shelley! Pictures when you can, please.
133.6 this morning at 7:30. Worked out w/our trainer yesterday, did not eat enough and went to be really early. Had a horrible morning...dizzy and weird. Did not get better until late morning. Man! Won't do that again.
Chris0 -
136.6 at 5:00 this morning. Ate a lot yesterday!
We had brunch w/DDD, SIL, Ronan and SIL's mom for her b'day. Didn't eat a lot, but a bite of several different things is probably going to add up. Only drank coffee. Everyone was happy with what was offered.
We went to the bookstore before we went to brunch. Hard to do when you only have 20 mins. We managed tho!!!!
Chris1 -
Hard to believe it is 90 degrees again after being 70. And the first day of fall!0
-
136.0 at 5:30 this morning. It's hot here in northern California, too!
Chris0 -
Karen it is getting cold here already. I will trade you for your heat.
Chris I want a bookstore.
Trial is almost over. 142.6
Shelley0 -
183.6...gotta squeeze in more exercise! Hubbie has hernia surgery on Monday so I've been going double duty at home and working. I think I fell asleep on the couch at 8 p.m. last night :-) needing some sort of normalcy back!
Have a good one!
Karen1 -
Karen, hope your DH's surgery goes well.
138.0 this morning at 4:00. Crazy scale! We walked then got the boys. I worked out w/our trainer then ate lunch.
Chris0 -
188.2 this morning. I’m back! Hope everyone is well. The remainder of this month and October are going to be my time to get focused. No travel October. Time to slow down for awhile and concentrate on me.
Kathy0 -
Karen your husband will feel so much better afterwards. I am not sure about recuperation time frame, I hope it is minimal though. I also am going to get in more exercise. Weights!
Chris true meaning up on that crazy scale. And shove it in front of a moving truck! No respect for all your hard work!
Kathy there you are. How was snorkelling?
142 again this morning. I picked up my packet to get started on filing for a title for an abandoned camper. Looking into cabin plans now. I think one bedroom on the main floor and one in a loft. Loft with real stairs. Not some ladder. And a porch with a swing. We sign for it on the first. Then on the following Saturday, the 5th, going up there. We will be roasting marshmallows and hotdogs with friends and family. And it is my birthday. Might have an Apple fritter also.
Shelley0 -
187.8 this morning.
Shelley - unfortunately snorkeling didn’t happen. The ocean there was effected by whatever hurricane was happening in the gulf or coast. The pacific had heavy waves when we arrived and continued with rain for a couple of days. No one was allowed in the water at the beach nor were boats going out. We spent the majority of our time at the pools. We had an excursion called Rhythm of the Night scheduled, a boat trip across the bay to an island with a cirque type show and dinner and it was cancelled. I got in a lot of practice swimming so it was okay. Hopefully snorkeling next trip in November in Jamaica.
Karen - sending positive thoughts to your husband. Pray that his surgery goes well.
Chris - I see you’re still killing it with your walks and trainer.
Happy Friday ladies!
Kathy
Picture from an excursion at a Tequila distillery that I didn’t know Ron was taking. Miguel was a hoot! By the time we left I was tipsy from the shots!2 -
Looks like a blast, Kathy!
136.0 this morning at 5:30. Rest Day. Got the boys, played, ate...went to our trainer's and got trained. Going to read now.
Chris1 -
Kathy - love the picture...looks like fun!
My husband's been doing a pretty good job recovering from his hernia surgery. Been tough doing double duty all week with a very stressful time at work, but I've made it to Friday. Bella is having a sleepover tonight with her friend from school. Hopefully they actually get some sleep :-)
Happy Weekend!
Karen1 -
Kathy you look a little extra happy in the photo! Oh my what fun. I had noticed the waves in your earlier photos. I wondered if it was a little rough to go out in. Looks like you had a fabulous time despite mother nature. I was lucky enough to go on a school field trip to a brewery. The copper kettles were cool. At the end the 6th graders actually got to sample the beer. My class was given soda. This was in Germany.
Chris keep on stepping!
Karen so glad to hear that your DH is doing well.
141.2 this morning. Chris you were right. I love my fitbit. We sign on Tuesday. That is the only day I can do it next week after all. Looking for the perfect, affordable, cabin that I will love is intense. And hard.
