We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Thread starters for September are below:

Monday - imastar2 (Derrick)
Tuesday - 88olds (George)
Wednesday - gavinflynn1 (Gavin)
Thursday - misterhub (Greg)
Friday - Jimb376mfp (Jim)

Today's Topic: Labor Day Holiday Today. Some people are off work but not everyone.
What on your Menu! Your Agenda! this Labor Day.

Thoughts and Prayers going out to those in Florida and up the East Coast. We have a few of our own in the the projected path of Dorian. 🙏

We bought some Rib Eye steaks on sale so they will go on the grill with either corn or potatoes and served with salad. DW and I will split one and DS will have the other. We may head off to a matinee and a walk if my knee cooperates.

Labor Day is sorta the last break from summer and transition to fall on it's way.

DW & I will be joining some clients but friends today for lunch. He's 94 years old a pow of WW ll. His wife is 89 and a delightful couple. We're joining them at their Assisted living residence. I'm selling their home representing them as their Realtor. We've had business together in the years past. He's a Chef by trade and was a darn good one. He went over to Germany as a 18 year year old in Normandy and was knocked out by a shell explosion Germans retrieved him and was in pow camp for 2 years and was liberated on D Day. Quite a story. We often talk about it a little but not much but he does talk a little bit about the concentration camps and the horror which I won't go into.

So we're having a buffet today at noon and yes I'll over eat but will have to come back home and just prepare to move on with life and start again.

Then I have some work to do so there's my Menu and my Agenda.

    Happy Labor Day to All.

Pilates. My Pilates instructor goes every day unless she’s out of town. It was terrific.

I'm so ready for cooler fall temperatures. Yesterday was a bike-hike-bike day that got me 31.8 miles on the heavy bike and 12 miles of hiking. The hiking part was a sweat-fest since it was sunny and humid. Saw lots of families out on the trails both walking as well as biking. Always good to see that! There is a creek that goes through part of this forest preserve and by the waterfall (the preserve is called Waterfall Glen), I saw many people wading in among the rocks trying to cool off!

I had to work yesterday. But, I get to defer the holiday, which is nice. I will take it at Christmas.

I had no special meal plans. Sticking to the plan. That was all. And avoiding the heat and humidity.
