We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Thread starters for October are below:
Monday - whathapnd (Emmie)
Tuesday - Imastar2 (Derrick)
Wednesday - gavinflynn1 (Gavin)
Thursday - misterhub (Greg)
Friday - goldenfrisbee (Chris)
Today’s topic: Surrender After you've tried everything. You may be mentally exhausted after trying to lose, stay on maintenance or perhaps other items you want to accomplish. Finally you know you know what to do to accomplish your task so you finally surrender, relax and just do what you know your supposed to do.
Have you ever just surrendered, relaxed and just get down to the task at hand.? Sorta on Auto Pilot if you will. Things begin to turn out. You start losing weight you're goal to maintain is on tract and away you go doing it. You've surrendered and now all is well.

Good question. I think that early on I concentrated on the day to day for weeks/months. Some sort of habit trail took place. I think of it more that I surrender to the habits that got me there when I get back to eating staples at home.1

This is the position I feel I'm in currently. I've worked mentally and physically to do everything I feel is neccessary to lose the weight till my cup overfloweth. Earlier this week I just surrendered and told myself I know what to do how to do it. So I just surrendered and stared doing it. I am on a losing streak this week and finally decided I'm working way too hard. I'm putting way too much mental and pysical energy into this losing weight thing. I'm a veteran at this and just needed to surrender to this thing and move on. Do I needed to track? Yes do I need to be accountable? Yes do I need to do all the things it takes to lose weight? Yes but I know how to fo it I just need to do it. That's what I'm doing and we'll see how this continues on. For now I feel good about it.0
