Hi,
As anyone know of a service that converts your own family meal planning meals to a more diabetic friendly diet? I mean there are many meal plans that are out there that I can get of others diabetic friendly meals. But I want to meals my family already enjoys to be converted to more diabetic friendly. That way I can continue cooking the similar meals to my family and making a little better for myself.
I am the meal planner and shopper for my family. So I have many meal options I rotate through our weekly schedule.
Sincerely,
David

Hi David-my family definitely are carb mongers so I get your dilemma. Usually I make it simple. Make the standard protein and swap out the starch for a vegetable for my portion. Pasta is swapped with vegetable noodles, same with potatoes and rice. There are a ton of recipes on this site and the web in general to give you ideas about swapping out certain ingredients (that no one misses) for better options. Also, personally I find that if I am making a dish that is totally non-diabetic, I eat a salad or vegetables first, then I am not as hungry so I don't overeat the "bad" meal. It can be done. I brought my A1C down from 8.8 to 5.3 in my first 3 months. Good luck. Feel free to add me for support and any other ideas I may come up with during my journey.2
