Dear Team,
I have sneaked out during the night and I am headed back 'home' to Turrialba, Costa Rica. Look that up on Google Earth. "Turrialba, Cartago, Costa Rica" add "Turrialba Volcano' or "Volcan Turrialba".
A few of you know that I speak Spanish and that in 2003, I lived for one year doing language study in a small rural agricultural community called, Turrialba. My wife, Rose, our youngest son, Ethan (12 at the time, and now 28) and I, lived full-time with an only Spanish speaking family. We also attended a 2 semester full-time Spanish language school.
Since that time, we have been part of our Costa Rican family, the Tortos. We have not been to see Joaquin and Ana Tortos, their adult children and grandchildren for the last two years.
We are on our way.
I am packing my laptop with me so that I can manage the UAC. I'll begin posting again once we reach the family home in Turrialba.
On the other hand, since our host family will be cooking and preparing food for us, I cannot track. No sweat...sometimes hospitality and relationship trump our usual habits.
I'll be exercising everyday and I'll post photos and give you daily updates.
Unless the volcano finally explodes, I"ll be back in touch by tomorrow.

I've had to stay away for a few days. During that time I used three pass days, bringing the total up to five. But I'm back on track today so yes to all three!5 -

What an exciting adventure @RangerRickL
I had a good day, possibly because I didn't have to work (which had just been chaos recently). I got in a yoga session and did my rehab. Did some shopping and finished a book (Hungry as the Sea by Wilbur Smith). Afternoon nap and then off to Jiu Jitsu. Still technique only but I haven't got there in 2 weeks so much needed!
Not the best food choices but everything for the weekend and the non perishables for the month (pay day is 15th so I shop around then for a month) are all ready so I can stick to good choices. Upper limit of my calorie budget today but still within acceptable limits.6 -
Got in 10,000 steps. Stayed under calories and carbs, though had a few more than I'd originally intended to via chips and salsa. But I counted out the chips before I dipped them to make sure I didn't go overboard.9

I'm experimenting with intermittent fasting this week. Yesterday I fasted during breakfast, today fasted during dinner, plus no snacks after 6:30 P.M. I think skipping dinner will be easier for me.

Man o man! That volcano is like 11,000 feet! And it has a road up it!
It ain't that far from the ocean. Imagine climbing that baby from sea level.
Only place for a similar epic climb is Hawaii. Mauna Loa (Mauna Kea?) 13,680.
Ugh that kind of climbing is the stuff of long gone days for me.
Eh, went to spin class today. It was only a 30 minute class but I got 49 minutes out of the deal. Seems kind of weird to be quibbling about 19 exercise minutes but spin is intense cardio. I had my heart up to 98%. I probably shouldn't be doing that. I get nothing like that kind of heart rate in the canyon.
Tomorrow supposed to be cold. I'll go to the canyon and see how much of the road is still passable. Today's weather probably left some ice on it. Bicycles can't go on ice. I don't know much but I know that much.6 -
3x’s yes! First class using TRX straps, super fun and challenging. Lol stayed after for 1/2 of a kickboxing class to ramp up my cardio.
Quick hot shower and hopped down to my new yoga class- I’m super digging it as I feel like I’m being challenged and growing.

3+1 yes. 30 min 30 day shred (almost ready to go to level 2 I think), tracked everything and stayed within my calorie goal. Did two meditations, which is harder after work, because the mind wants to process everything that happened during the day.
Today I recorded my lowest weight since February!7 -
