We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion. Thread starters for September are below:

Monday -88olds (George)
Tuesday - Imastar2 (Derrick)
Wednesday - gavinflynn1 (Gavin)
Thursday - misterhub (Greg)
Friday - Al_Howard (Al Howard)

Today’s Topic: Moods?/Moody? Happy? Sad? Discouraged? and so on. Maybe @ mealtime or during the day or maybe even longer.

How do your moods effect your eating habits. I'm not sure I'm looking for stressfull days or work deadlines or even meal planning. Just moods in general.

Moods are interesting on many levels. Happy moods! Makes me want to be on plan for the most part. Miserable mood! Not feeling well mood! Seem to have an effect on my wanting to eat mode. Maybe even go off plan. It's hard to control moods when things happen. I know we should do our best to have positive thoughts and positive moods. Be happy they say.

It’s not much of a factor. If I’m agitated and at home I catch myself wandering into the kitchen more looking for snacks. But I’ve worked pretty hard to wring the emotions out of eating and food.

Pre WW I was good day- eat. Bad day- eat. Happy, sad, angry- everything was a reason to eat. The numbness that comes with feeling overly full was a big attraction for me.
