@Craigo3154 Great holiday report! One of the worst puzzles DH and I put together was a thousand piece puzzle where every piece was cut exactly the same and interlocked perfectly with every other piece. The only way to put the puzzle together was with shades and intensity of color.
I can solve a 5x5 Megaminx (https://www.amazon.com.au/Coogam-Shengshou-Megaminx-Gigaminx-Puzzle/dp/B06Y1XJY8R) faster than I could place the last 20 pieces in this puzzle. (And yes I have one of these. I also have an extensive collection of other puzzle cubes. I can solve a standard 3x3 rubics cube consistently in under a minute. It's my normal "fiddle" toy).
Other one we solved I liked better. The pieces had more variety and the picture was amazingly detailed.

(Puzzle - Complete - Unfortunately the photo is dark, but it does look MUCH more the color of the picture)5 -
@RangerRickL I had to look closely at the photo to see the driver was a skeleton. A sense of humor, kind of, for someone in hospice. We're all temporary visitors on this earth.
@craigo3154 Good to have you back, glad you had a good holiday.
@nodm awesome!
Yes x3, walked over an hour, stayed under calories, logged everything. Hope the snow passes us by tomorrow.
Thanks, @Hollis100! You are so right about us being temporary visitors on earth. That is one of the reasons why I am trying to make every day count to remain in health so that I can make this human experience as comfortable as possible. Thank you for those words.2 -

dog walking for exercise
I'm starting to have a harder time sticking with this plan. I want to slack on the tracking, don't want to exercise after work, but am doing my best to stick with this challenge. I have 1 pass day so far.
I've lost 4 lbs since Jan 1, which is faster than I anticipated. I'm thinking I'll plan another pass day before the end of this challenge as a reward, and as a way to motivate myself to hang in till the end.
I'm enjoying reading about everyone, and I love that people continue posting, even if they aren't going to be in the circle this round.6 -
@craigo3154 I appreciate you and enjoyed reading your written summary about your intentional relaxation retreat.
Well done! You deserve to give yourself more of those moments.
Your friend

@Anya_000 I'm also having a hard time, chalking up one Pass Day after another, either because I go over calories, like yesterday, when I couldn't resist the pizza, or because I feel so tired, I cannot drag myself out to a class or even a walk - the weather has been grey, damp and depressing the last few days. I'm struggling with partner's spending - he now just runs up debts - and I'm putting off completing my UK Tax form.
However, I have not dropped out, am still posting. I feel a lot of support from other strugglers, even more so than people who seem to effortlessly put down 3 Yes's every day. They seem like role models I cannot yet aspire to!6 -
@Hollis100
I’ve known my client since we were in high school in 1968. He is one of several brothers. He had an excellent mind and personality. Unfortunately, he also had some bad “bounces”. Due to an accident he became a paraplegic at the age of 40. It did not diminish his good natured view of life. He is the father of 3 adult children.
When I was at the home, I asked one of his sons to tell me about the “lawn ornament”.
He said that 10 years ago, his Dad had seen the old wagon in disrepair. He bought it for a few dollars and then invested more than $2,000 in a complete renovation. It’s been sitting in the front yard since then.
The skeleton is a bit eerie at this moment, but in a way it’s a reminder of life’s inevitable trajectory.
@craigo3154 posted about his decision to take a relaxing timeout the same day that @w8goal4life lost a dear friend. The lesson is to live well in light of life’s very fragile and transient realities

@RangerRickL Thanks for letting us know that your friend's renovated wagon-with-skeleton has been on his lawn for a decade. That makes sense. I agree, he must have a great sense of humor. I'm sorry he's so ill now and walking the road we'll all travel one day.1 -
