My C25k group are coming along nicely. An awesome group of women. I am really enjoying watching them develop.
I was entered in a 10k race today which, sadly, was cancelled. It was a coastal route, on the NW coast, by the Irish Sea. 60 mile an hour winds were predicted, along with a high tide. I’m sad. It’s a hard race to get into. Storm Ciara has kept me trapped inside the house ALL day.
Hope everyone has had a good weekend1 -

@k80flec - disappointing about the race, but the obviously made the right choice in cancelling.
I went riding with crazy night cycling group last night, then biked to church. I was planning to go for a run this morning but the power went out. Our house is all electric and when I realized I couldn't take a hot shower I decided perhaps that wasn't a good idea before church lol. So I went for a walk instead. All good now. I'm at 28/75.0 -

My OH keeps kidding me about my race that was cancelled on Sunday - ‘call yourself a runner when a bit of rain put you off’
Edit : I tried to link to a video, taken as the race was due to start, 5 mins from the start line. Instead, a screenshot which doesn’t capture the driving force of the wind

@K80FLEC - I hope you gave your OH a look to let him know of your displeasure at his attempt at being funny..... Since when does not wanting to run in really crummy weather make one less of a "runner"??G Grrrrrr. Not a thing.

@Dave - OH definitely got the look. We’ve seen some awesome images of the impact of the average 40+ mph with gusts of 90 mph wind during the gale on Sunday. The storm is still having an impact, although the winds have reduced to a mere 31 mph. It is passing, but the next one is due to hit on Saturday, Storm Dennis (such a mild name, Dennis)
Edited to be accurate on the wind speeds1
