Hi there, I'm Katie. This is my first challenge and I'm excited to do this. Daily exercise is difficult for me because I have 24/7 vertigo, and some days/weeks get really tough and I can't get up off the couch. I would like to challenge myself to at least try yoga or something on those days. As far as food goes, I like to eat clean at home as much as I can, but I have a pretty major sugar addiction that I have to fight with on a daily basis. I'm looking forward to talking with everyone who joins and supporting each other!7

Welcome everyone! March will be my third month of UAC, no Winners Circle yet, but the accountability has made such a positive difference. I strive for the Winners Circle but I’ll keep coming back even if I never make it. Here’s to a great March!7

Hi there, Maddie here!
This will be my 24th month participating in UAC. I feel like it’s my secret weapon!
I went from a BMI of 34.2 to one in high 22 to 23’s from Jan 2016 through April 2020, maintaining the past 10 months.
These three habits keep me exercising, tracking, and keeping my mind in the calories game.
Welcome both newbies AND returnees!!!10 -

Hi Katie.
Me too! Love sugar and sweetness. There is an article posted within CNN's site today regarding sugar cravings and lack of sleep. Apparently, women who do not sleep enough crave sugar, saturated fats, and caffeine more than those who do. Of course the study only included 500 women which is not a large test group. But, I will say when I am not sleeping well I have a tendency to have more bad cravings than good.

Hello everyone.
I found this challenge last month and joined. My eating habits have gotten a little sloppy since the beginning of the year. The scale continues to move in the right direction.
I joined MFP at the end of August and as of today am down a total 36.4 pounds. Original goal was to lose 40 pounds, but as I approach goal I am thinking I may adjust to 45 pounds which will be the maximum weight loss amount for me. I am almost 5'9" with a medium frame. If I lose more than 45 pounds I will begin to look like a skeleton which is not a good look for me.
I am looking forward to continuing my journey with this group of positive and supportive people.6 -
@RangerRickL - Thank you for posting the March link and keeping us together.5

Hi, I'm in! I need to decrease my emotional knee jerk reactions and increase data and critical thinking with respect to eating and exercising habits. Looking forward to having some support in this. Thanks!6

Hello, everybody. I joined this challenge last September and have continued every month. I've been in maintenance since November 2019. Although I'm a normal weight now, my healthy habits are still shaky, so showing up here every day is extremely helpful, whether I make the Winner's Circle or not. I also appreciate the friendly, supportive community.
Welcome to the newcomers!6 -
Hey y'all I am new to challenges, but this one seems well suited to me. I have been dieting for a while and been reasonably successful at weight loss, but not at consistently exercising. I have lost something north of 100 pounds, how much kind of depends on when I start counting, I still have about 50 pounds I need to lose so hopefully this will help.
Looking forward to it.6 -
Hi everyone! Excited to be back for my 14th month with this challenge!8

It's been a year since I could train in my chosen sport of Jiu Jitsu thanks to various injuries and surgeries and complications, and I'm ready to get back on the mat, face the fears I have developed, get fit and strong again and drop the weight I picked up. It's not too much, but I'm healthier without it and I need to look after my body after giving my kidney away last year.
Mu shoulder is healed enough to train and the twisted ankle should be good enough to start slow by 2 March. Ready to dig deep for this month and make a significant difference!9 -
Hello, this will be my 6th month with the UAC. I've lost 25 lbs since September, looking to lose another 15-20! The UAC helps me stay consistent and keep on track. Looking forward to another month of accountability4

Thanks Suzi, I appreciate the insight! I'm going to be doing a sleep study in a few months, so we'll see how it goes.4 -
Glad to be back UAC and looking forward to checking in March.3

March is my fourth month with UAC. I love the group and the challenge. I have a tendency to except great things from myself and then get disappointed that I don't achieve my goals, but UAC is something I seem to be able to succeed with.
I entered my maintenance range on 1/10. I have been struggling a bit with eating enough to stop losing weight (due to GERD/reflux), but I'm getting better at it.
Welcome to all the new folks.8 -
Hi everyone! This is my first time attempting this challenge. I have really let my body go in recent years and I need to be more mindful of what I am doing for my body. Hoping to see some change by the end of March

Hey, this is month number 2 for me joining the UAC challenge. I appreciate this group for being that little push I need at the end of my long days to put in my 20 minutes of exercise. 10 pounds down in the last 40 ish days. Looking forward to more!6

Hi Everyone! This seems like a great group as I’m looking for some accountability. I’ve been stuck at the same weight for a while and need to lose 15 lbs; 9 to get me into a healthy BMI, plus 6 more for good measure. I hope to see the scale moving in the right direction again this month 🤞
Good luck everyone!6 -
Hi everyone, I am a newbie here. Just getting myself together in the past month with logging food and moving more. This group looks like just the motivation I need to be accountable for daily exercise and logging. I have struggled with weight since college ,those freshman 15 turned into 20 and so on with babies and marriage I have to turn this around. My goal is under 2 before 42!

Hello all. March will be my third month. This group has given me so much the last few months. I no longer mindlessly snack and graze. I am also making a conscious effort to get more activity in my life. This is the first winter season I have actually lost a few pounds instead of gaining my normal 15-20 that I then spend all late spring and summer trying to lose.6

Hi all! Welcome to March 2020, returnees and newcomers.
And a thousand thanks to our leader, @RangerRickL for helping us stay accountable.
I’m Terri from Northern Ireland. Back for my 17th month. Working on improving my fitness and health. Made the Winners Circle 16 times so far.
Original Goal for 2019 was to reach 155lbs, which I achieved, and revised down to <150lbs. Achieved the upper 140s in early Dec, and stayed there. I am now at my lowest weight in 4 decades!
UAC is a good place for anyone to start the practicing of new habits, in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.
Just a few details on my personal journey to health and fitness.
Aim for 2019 ~ reach 155 <150WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED
Aim for each month ~ Weigh less at the end than I did at the beginning
I am FOCUSED on heathy food choices and DETERMINED to achieve my goals!
Age: 73; Height 5’2”; Female
SW: 227lbs (Mar 2014)
LW: 146.7 (Dec 2019)
UGW: 145 (this may change when I get there 😂 )
CW: 148.8- My ideal situation is to be below 150, to allow me some wiggle room for holidays/celebrations, which I achieved in Dec 2019
- I use CI/CO and a variety exercise for extra calories.
- Logic would suggest that I have found a natural comfortable weight, and, according to modern BMI calculation, I am in the upper range of normal for my age and height. However, logic doesn't always dictate our desires and feelings. 😂
- Getting and staying healthy and fit requires the development of a permanent lifestyle reset.
- Replacing unhelpful habits with more useful ones is key to to the process.
- Losing weight is only one of the elements.
- Eating healthy and staying actively is not OPTIONAL, but an ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts on weight which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be several lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a permanent lifestyle change for most people.

Girl, you’ve got this and we’ve got you!
My name is Julie (friends call me Jules) and I’d be honored to be friends with y’all! This is going to be my second month with this group, and I’m really looking forward to it! Hit me up with a friend request and just mention UAC and I’ll add you!
By the end of the third week of February, I’d lost three pounds, and I credit this group (and my love of a challenge) for that!
Exercise wasn’t the problem. Consistent tracking and relying on exercise calories were my downfall. Weighing as much intake as I can and not dipping into my exercise calories (a personal goal) helped tremendously! This group kept me on the rails in February! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️3 -
Hello. I'm Patricia and I'm a middle-aged woman that realizes she needs a kick in the pants to be healthier. My friend, Julie, introduced me to this challenge and is my accountability partner to help me along. I'm hoping to achieve great things here and feel better!
Great days ahead!!4 -
Hi there! I'm Caitlin and this will be my first month with this accountability challenge. I'm doing well sticking to my calorie goal, just need more accountability for exercise. Looking forward to it!6

Hi I'm Susan! MFP helped me lose weight after my first kid, now that my second kid is 5 it is past time to lose weight again! This is my first time joining a group so I'm very excited to have some accountability.
My friends and family always try to be supportive when I'm working on my fitness, but I know how difficult it is when no one else is actually doing it with you.5 -
Hi Everyone,
I'm Stacie, and am trying to figure out menopause. I have just recently entered this new "chapter" in my life and it's been difficult. I've gained weight and nothing I did previously works for me anymore. I've been experimenting with different diets and have recently been going more plant based for the past few weeks. I actually seem to feel less joint pain than before. I'm not 100% committed to it, but I do try and eat at least 80% plant based.
I am generally fairly active but my work schedule has been insane leaving me not a lot of time, but I need to commit to at least 30 minutes a day in the morning and at night. I hope this challenge will hold me accountable. Looking forward to it.7 -
Hi everyone.
I'm Samantha and my goal is to lose around 7lbs in March. I've got 45lb to lose in general as I am currently 13st 3lb.
Started T25 Beta programme today and have linked my new versa 2 to this mfp account. I had done the Alpha round of T25 and found I lost more inches but only completed three weeks of it and didnt track nutrition.
This time I'll track all my nutrition as it is what I used to do when I lose 2.5stone and have kept it off since. Time to finish the job!6 -
