Greetings from sunny Florida.
After quite a few 1:30 to 2:30 wake ups I decided it was time to try a little assistance. I extremely dislike taking of any medication unless absolutely necessary. The only thing available in my Rx's was Aleve PM. I took one before going to bed, read for awhile, fell asleep around 10:30 or so, and once again was up at 1:30. I was able to immediately fall back asleep until 3:30. The additional 2 hours has done me good. As I do not want to make assisted sleep a habit I will see what happens over the next few days. I think my body and mind needs a period of adjustment to the new normal.
It is now time for my grateful list.- I am grateful to have awakened to a new day filled with possibilities.
- I am grateful for this time of sheltering in place. It is giving me time to reset and have a lot of quiet time to reflect upon my life and my future.
- I am grateful for full use of my body. It is strong and allows me to be self-sufficient.
- I am grateful for my box of hurricane supplies and the cheap solar lights stored within it. It has allowed me to continue to make my garden a magical place. The picture below shows yesterday's creation of a glowing globe hanger.
My emergency storage container is primarily stocked with hurricane supplies. It contains cheap solar lights. I pick these up at the dollar store every couple of years. If the power is out they charge up using the sun and I place them in places around the house especially in the bathroom. Yes, flashlights are always on hand but these make a nice nightlight for those times when one gets up during the night and does not want to blast a bright light. They also make it easier to navigate around the house after dark. I use them when I camp to mark the tent lines.
Yesterday was filled with creativity. I usually work at the kitchen counter and/or living room, but since we are in it for the long haul I realized I needed a place to separate myself from the workday and my home life. I had been meaning to get rid of this desk in my guestroom for quite a while and never seemed to have the time (maybe my mind knew this day was coming??). I dismantled part of it and spruced it up. The first picture are the pieces going out for bulk trash pick up and the second is my new work space. With wireless and great battery I can now work anywhere in my house, yet have a place to officially call it a day.
Hugs to all and prayers to those in need.10 -

Exercised: Yes (7.5 km walk in 65 mins - hills)
Tracked: Yes
Budget: Yes
Challenging walk, becoming my normal. This walk has 3 steep hills in it. My usual pace is on the 5km walk is normally under 8 min per km (210m elevation change). With the hills, on the 7.5 km walk, I need to push hard to break 9 min per km (350m elevation change). To give an indication of scale, the Eiffel tower in Paris is 324m from base to it's tip.
Happy still to be here, even if not in circle this month. I consider that a MAJOR victory for me (considering what the start of the month was like).10 -
Lunch-break - and couldn't WAIT to share this NSV .... one month shy of 32nd Wedding anniversary ... and The Dress fits PERFECTLY! Able to take deep breath / cross arms across chest without straining back or armhole seams / EVEN able to twist arms within straight-cut sleeves without rotating the material!
Even MORE amazing ... the two-years-older strapless number (a bridesmaid dress with a slightly SMALLER bodice .... - FITS TOO!
now ..... do I start working towards Stablizing as of April 1, or see if I can still (comfortably, as I have been during March) settle slightly lower first?
Already just SLIGHTLY below originally planned bottom of target maintenance zone - currently 9 or 10 pounds above dead-center of BMI range for my height (which I expect would be TOOO low for my age ... ) and while not "sturdy-boned", I am not fine-boned either.13 -

Hi there. Here is the link for the April challenge:

@BMcC9 great job!
✅ Today I got 98 minutes of exercise between my oxygen inventory an push mowing the part of the back yard that the tractor can’t reach.
✅ Logged everything, even that complimentary Starbucks butter croissant I was given today, and still...
✅ Came in under calorie goal.
Work was a bit crazy today, but in a bright spot, the PR gal’s husband brought his guitar, amp and mic to the front of the building and sang so that patients on the floors could hear. I caught his rendition of Hey Jude and it was amazing.
Hope you all are well! ☀️💐 Bring on Spring❣️8 -

@juliemouse83 saw your comment about push mowing the part of the back yard that the tractor can’t reach -- way to go!
@BMcC9 congrats on fitting into your wedding gown!
Exercise: 3 hours doing yard clean up, raking leaves, trimming overgrown tree limbs, pulling green onions, hauling it off. I logged 2 hours instead of 3 because I suspect the MFP calories might be overstated.
Calories: way under
Tracked: tracked all my food

Two main ways.
While in Community, click on Groups (second choice from the left, in between Message Boards and Blogs. Here you will see a list of of ONLY the groups you have joined (including this one, and UAC April if you have already joined it)
Click on it.
This will bring up a list of all the individual sub-threads - Introductions /FAQ's / What's On Your Mind Today? .... and below that is a list of Discussion Threads .... those are the daily threads.
Which brings me to the other main way .... while where you can see all the discussion threads, click on the little star for each of the next few days. OR while you are reading any other Message board thread that you might want to see again later, there is a little star in the upper right corner of page 1 (below the group banner). If you have clicked on it (turned it into a yellow star instead of a default empty star) you can always get back to it by clicking the dark star at the VERY top right corner (your bookmark list) inbetween the dark bell (your Notification indicator) and the dark cog-wheel (your account options indicator)

(it's RAINing aGAIN whoa whoa it's RAINing aGAIN ... ) snow going even faster .... but DH will be getting restless if there are tooooo many more days in a row ..... happy enough to stay on the property, but would be HAPPIER if either able to be sitting out with his tea, or puttering around the yard.
I have work to distract me. He's retired already.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, more than 20, even though not able to take evening walk ... be cause it's RAINing aGAIN ....
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, with 90 extra fitbit calories that I won't be eating back (maybe even more when I re-sync tomorrow morning)
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yepper!

Pass day #3
Today was an intentional pass day.
I am so happy I will make it into the winners circle this month!!
I am finally enjoying being out in the beautiful weather. Being intentional with my exercise and eating is making me feel more in control in these crazy times.
Thanks for every encouraging post here. It is truly a blessing to be able to be with such amazing group.
The one thing I intend to take from what is going on is we should be thankful even if it is for the blooming crabapple or the beautiful redbud in our new home here in East TN. Happiness should come from within. We can truly learn a lot about ourselves and where we put our trust in times like this.6 -

Well my suspicion was right. I'm COVID positive.
I knew that something was up since I don't get sick often and the fever has been lingering a week.
Here are my symptoms in decreasing order
Fever 99-101 up and down for 6 days now.
slight headache.
slight muscle ache
slight achy around the eyes occasionally.
No taste and no appetite. Everything taste salty or super sweet
slight cough.
no shortness of breath.
occasional sore throat early on.
No diarrhea, or stomach pain.
The good news is now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm not too worried.
Going to stay home for another 7 more days or when no symptoms for 72 hours.
Calories were LOW not even 500 so I am making some pancakes later. lol
Tracked everything
0 passes left.
Still in the game.
I just went for a slow 20 walk
Have a successful day tomorrow all!
