11th March
A good day.
Exercise: Yes. Made it to the swimming pool with my new swimming cap, did 30 minutes and also 60 minutes walking in the glorious sunshine. It was 22°!
Calories: Yes, stayed under. Ate my leftovers from the day before plus some fresh salad and nut and raisins snack.
Tracking: Yes, logged everything.
Last week my weight went up inexplicably by a kilo, but this morning it is almost back down to where it was before. Bought myself a new pair of jeans in a smaller size, as my old jeans are ridiculously loose now.6 -

Though a bit sad since I was looking forward to spending April spring break (I'm a teacher) in Europe, but now it looks like that won't be possible...3 -

Kind of sort of but -
My food inbound been managed
But my exercise and posting pretty inconsistent.Adventures of GeezerMan
I went out this morning with the idea that I could get up to my canyon digs for some exercise. That is where I mostly like to go but lately it has been a mudhole.
That ain't so great.
But trying to get there all I did was run into traffic jam after traffic jam. But I devised this strategy. Whenever I get to a traffic jam I just turn and go the direction cars ain't coming from.
So I end up going West over the mesa, past the escarpment, past the reservation. Went down a a washboard road. I end up in a different wilderness. On the edge of , kind of you know.
But I stumbled into this place that is a mountain biking Shrangri-La. I can't believe how beautiful it is. I took pictures with my phone and kept wishing I had a real camera with me.
The trail kind of followed along the top of a hogback or escarpment. There was kind of a cliff off to the right side. You know, not like a massive cliff that you could wingsuit off of. But still the kind of cliff that if you fell off of you would probably get carried home in a stretcher.
Maybe I put a picture or two of them weird trails. But I go up that trail and I get to where the trail goes over an off camber calcite outcrop.
I don't feel like doing it and I notice that there is a trail that appears to be sort of a cut out. So I pick that easier softer way.
Well that didn't pan out. What I didn't see of that trail is that it fizzled into these gullies. But going down there ain't no going back up.
I tell you how that is. You know sometimes when you are hiking you wish you had them hiker poles. Use them hike poles for a little bit of balance supplement.
Well that is ok. I use my bike like that sometimes when I am hike-a-bike.
Heh, the bike is my hiker pole.
But I ended up in a couple of scramble places where that wasn't working. So think about these sort of places where you'd be hands and knees scrambling but you got to figure out how to keep that bike with you. In and out of gullies, up and down.
Now I know better.
Heh! No I don't.
I'm a funna go back there. Maybe I better get me one of them emergency locator beacons. But this place is so cool. It is fossil territory.
They got a fossil from there back in '85.
Heh! Seismosaurus. Heh, spell checker don't know how to spell that. Neither do I. This place is so cool. This is going to be my Springtime satisfaction.
Mudhole ain't working out for me.
This place is beyond fascinating. They got some geological, paleontological anomalies here. I ain't gonna put pictures of that. I don't want that getting out to New York or nothing.
I ain't gonna tell you how weird I am either. I leave that to the gentle reader to discern.
Heh! Buddy is coming over tomorrow. He gots the day off from school because of parent teacher conference.5 -
