It's a natural effect of eating higher fats, you become less hungry. You will loose weight still. I rarely if ever eat breakfast, if you don't count coffee and cream, and I'm not normally hungry until anything after 2pm. It varies but when I feel hungry I eat something, though sometimes like most of us, I just eat something because I want to, rather than feeling hungry!

You are at the getting fat adapted stage, it takes 6 to 8 weeks to become truly fat adapted so that your body is running on Ketones rather than glucose from carbs. Once you are there you mat have to drop the amount of fats you are having as you want your body to run on the fat you have stored rather than the fats you are adding to your diet. That doesn't mean you should go low fat! Just cut down a bit on the amounts you are having.

There are a couple of good sites to check out, The Diet Doctor is great and has very good recipes as well. Also I really like Amy Berger from Tuit Nutrition as she is (IMO) very sensible and also make me laugh sometimes at her turn of phrase! Good luck and welcome! Oh and remember weight loss isn't linear, you may go up a bit, you may stay the same but you will go down!

Thanks for that. I added a coffee with cream this morning and loved it so i feel a bit better by adding that in. Im just not going to worry about getting everything in. It does annoy me though when ive added everything on my food diary for the day and it comes up with the warning that im not eating enough.

My goal for February was to be 79kg, which I got to, however I think I'm starting to plateau as my weight doesn't seem to be moving very much, hovering between 79kg and 80kg. I've previously been averaging about 1kg a week. Some weeks a little more, some a little less. The last 4 weeks have been barely moving.

I can't really complain though, I've already managed to lose 20kg (almost half my goal loss) before hitting the dreaded plateau.
My eating habits have been a bit off, as I've been having higher carbs, but still under 50 total per day. I'll concentrate on eating better, and hopefully this plateau will become a downhill slope again soon.

[I am not quite ready for the 800 cal recommended for weight loss, but I am heading in that direction.

Please don't go down to 800 calories, that's not part of Keto at all. You need fats, protein and low carbs. It is not either possible or healthy to try to follow a Keto way of life and eat so few calories. The entire diet works on the principles of fat adaption. Please check out some reliable website like the Diet Doctor for more information.

No worries. Although I've read that what a number of folks do, I am still fact checking. My strategy is to balance the micronutrients 70/20/10 and ease into things, thus avoiding the keto flu. Thanks for the referral to Diet Doctor.

It' is pretty interesting how this happens. I feel my body/emotions changing as I eat foods that I have been avoiding for years - cheese, eggs, beef/pork/dark meat. Those continuous cravings seem to be fading. However, sometimes I want something refreshing or lite. Cucumbers work really well for this. Any other suggestions?

I'm a fan of iceberg lettuce! Even in the winter I'll often have a salad for dinner. Check out the carbs on things like pickled dill cucumbers as well. A nice crunch if you get the right kind! Maybe others have some favourites to go to.

I have been adding celery and almond butter to my snacks for a break. Still has the fat, but the celery is light.

Started keto 7 days ago, I have been starting to feel the full sensation and fighting through my habit of boredom eating. I also cut my beverage of choice, pepsi, out cold turkey. We all know what pop/soda can do, but my craving for that has faded exponentially as I include more water into my lifestyle. I feel like for just starting I am doing okay, and need to power through.

Totally missed adding my totals on here!

I have been holding onto a lot of water weight, over the weekend I weighed in on 234.5, we'll see what this next few weeks bring!

Not expecting to get to my GW for this month, not with this plateau blocking progress :(
Just have to keep pushing through it. It is pretty frustrating though. 5 weeks now with no significant loss.

I still had a loss this week, but I know I'm struggling with my eating. I'll do EXCELLENT for 3-4 days, and then the weekend comes and I just stop doing it, and I'm not sure why. Like I'm aware that I'm eating things I don't need, but I do it anyway. The week is easy because I have a pretty set routine, but on the weekends it's a free for all. Oh well, another week!

A little background and reminder for those struggling at the start of keto. I first did keto 3 years ago and lost 30lbs real quick. Put it all back on slowly and tried calorie in/ calorie out last fall with little success. Thus I realized keto was the way to go as I felt great on it. Started 5 weeks ago with slow progress. But cravings were down, my mood stabilized and I knew I was eventually going to lose. So I was relieved this week when the whoosh came with a loss of 3.7lbs. That’s a total of 9lbs in 5 weeks.
