Good morning all
Thought I'd start the new week since we're already part way through it.
Sheesh I'm glad that you and your family are safe and healthy. Working from home definitely helps but that leads to a different kind of stress for sure. Today will be a big test as the kids come back to our place and Shawn is home. He's really good though and will keep them preoccupied I'm sure.
I have a coworker that had to postpone their May wedding. They moved it to November. Might be a tough decision to make for your daughter but probably for the best if she moves it.
I'll check back in later.

Good morning!
Sheesh - Happy 44th Anniversary!! How exciting! I loved your comment about giving your house cleaners a raise as I'm looking at my dirty floors that I was too lazy to clean this past weekend! and I have a Hoover Floormate and roomba to help! Such a bummer about moving the wedding but it may be the right thing to do. A late summer - early fall would be beautiful as well.
Kelly - glad you are able to work from home! Prayers to you guys with having the kiddos home.
So I'm up in weight again and not surprised. I'm eating everything wrong...I'm eating my meal prep but I'm also snacking like crazy. Work has me busy enough, but I'm just finding myself snacking more than usual. So yesterday, on top of making myself go upstairs to use the restroom and a lap around the house before I sit back down, I've made myself walk outside every couple of hours as well...only for about 5 minutes to the mailbox corner and back. I was having technical difficulties and challenges at work at the end of the day so I cancelled my time with my trainer - however I did a TRX workout on my own followed by a lap around the block (this morning I timed it and it's about 14 minutes and about .6 miles). I did the walk again this morning before "starting work".0 -
14 new cases in our province today.. 1 lady in her 60's in hospital in critical condition0
-
Hang in there Kelly - remember - we will see a rise as the tests are becoming more accessible. Expect them to rise. And with every new case reported, we don't know where they are in the course of the virus or who else may have been exposed.
I am proud of myself for "walking to work" today....I walked around the block to start my work day. and I walked at lunch to get out and give my bum a break. Hoping I have the energy to "walk home" when I'm done.
I've sent out a couple of challenges on Stridekick. we all need to keep moving somehow. One goes until this weekend and the other is for next week. We need to keep the challenges going so we can keep motivating one another.
Hang in there ladies!!!0 -

Well, better late than never. I did weigh on Wednesday, but I just looked and see it's now 10 minutes into Thursday. Seems like progress, but I assure you that some days I weigh 141 and then the next day I'll be almost up to 144. However, I know that Lois is sneaking up behind me to bop me on the head for not celebrating any sign of a loss on weigh-in day, so I'll say "yah."
I really want to chat. I've been thinking of everyone and was so happy to see your posts. Kelly, I'm especially glad to see you back on the board. We missed you when you were not posting very often. But, since it's after midnight and I still have a couple of things to do before I hit the pillow, I think I'm going to send you all a virtual hug and come back tomorrow to catch up. I started to say that it's harder for me to get here to chat because I'm working more hours, but I'm not going places I would normally go, so I should have more time to log in. Life is just so odd now. But I promise to post again tomorrow. I'm glad everyone's family is doing okay at this time.

Thought I'd drop in before I get up from my desk although my rear end is numb from sitting so long. Sheesh, I am so sorry about the wedding, but it sounds like your daughter has a great attitude. I hope that she won't lose any of her deposits. My great nephew's wedding was planned for April 11, and they have decided to push forward to September or October.
Last night I made it to the treadmill around 10:30 and I actually put in 50 minutes. Monday, it was 30, Tuesday, 40 and last night 50. I wonder if I can get in 60 minutes tonight?
This has been a very sad day for two people I know. One is the former coworker and now client who made it possible so many years ago for me to telework. I owe her a lot. Her Mom died this morning, and yes--they think it's COVID. Another fellow that we do volunteer work with lost his dad today, but in that case, it was not COVID. He was in his 90s and had a host of health problems.
I am afraid that the worst is yet to come for us here in the U.S. One of my main concerns are the folks at CDC-INFO, who run our public inquiry call center. They are in Mississippi and their Governor is the one who said, "Mississippi is not like China and I'm not closing things down." Ye god! It's a matter of time, I am afraid.
I do think that this time puts a lot of intake and activity challenges in front of us. I also think we'll appreciate plain old normal life if we ever get back to it.
Thinking of you all. Maybe I'll get back here later tonight.0 -

Oh man . . . up I go over 130 again. Stress eating. Congratulations on your reduction Sarah! And on the really good treadmill time . . good for you.
I'm really sorry to hear the sad news on Covid cases. Sarah, I hope and pray the people at CDC and all the doctors and nurses around the country (and their families) will get through this awful situation okay. The case count here is now 402, with 181 in my county. It's so scary. Please protect yourselves, ladies.
Great job with all of your walking, Lois! Just please make sure you stay 10 feet away from passersby! How are your kids doing with this craziness?
Kelly, I'm very glad you're at home. I know it's stressful with children at home all the time, but better to keep everyone as safe as possible. My children tell me how difficult it is to homeschool AND work from home. Especially my son who has 3 little ones. Yikes.
Hubby and I had a really low key Anniversary. Of course, greetings from all our kids, and we also went for a drive up the canyon to our cabin. There's still so much snow, but we went in to check on things. It was nice to get out for a drive and fresh air. We ate dinner, and watched a movie. It was nice. We'll celebrate next year for both years, lol!
I did a 30 minute walk on the treadmill, followed by a weight training workout today. My trainer texted me to check up on whether I was doing my training as normal today. I did it, although it was an hour later than our usual time. It's hard to get my butt moving all on my own.
Tomorrow, our family is going to have a "virtual happy hour" together. That should be interesting. Any way we can boost our spirits is what we need.

Good morning ladies.
Nice to see so many posts! Great to see everyone keeping up with their activity and exercise as well. WOW Sarah.. walking on the treadmill at 10:30 at night?! I could never do that. But in saying that, I'm a morning person and completely opposite where I go on the treadmill at 4 or 5am some days. Working at home definitely makes it hard to get in my steps and activity. I work from 6:30-6:30 and only get a 30 minute lunch, so not a heck of a lot of time. I do walk around the house when I can though and after work, Shawn and I have been going for an evening walk. We stay away from people. I see this morning that the British PM now tested positive.
Happy Belated Anniversary Sheesh! Sounds like you made the most of the day
I'll check back later. Have a great day all!0 -
That drive to the cabin sounds so nice, Sheesh. And I'm so envious of snow. We got about a half inch once this year, and that's it. Climate change is real. I'm also glad to know of a good event in March. March has always been a hard month for me since I associate it with some not so happy events. Now I know a happy one.
Kelly, last night I hit the TM at 11:15. Hubby went to bed early because he planned to be at the grocery store when it opened at 6 a.m. today. I had hoped to hit 60 TM minutes yesterday, but things didn't work out as I planned. So even though some of the steps were after midnight, I did beat my Wednesday time with 55 minutes. I'm not really walking that fast though--last night I set it at 2.8 mph. I have less than normal energy, which I think is a common complaint these days. And today, my weight is up to 142.8. I attribute that to high carbs yesterday. I had Ellie Krieger's bowtie pasta, salmon, and green pea salad for lunch. Then we had leftover meatloaf for dinner with scalloped potatoes. Between the pasta and the potatoes, up goes the scale.
Lois, "walking to work" is a great idea. If you do it outside, it means you have to be dressed, and it gets the blood and brain in gear. It's very chilly here in the a.m., but the sun is out today for a change, so maybe I can get outside during an afternoon break (if I get one). You're right that the lack of testing is affecting the numbers we see. So are lack of tests results. I have a coworker who had a fever for 4 days with other flu-type symptoms. She was tested for regular flu and it was negative, but 8 days later, she still doesn't have the Covid test back. Thankfully, even though she's early 50s, she is feeling better. But she's concerned about having maybe exposed others.
Well, must get back to work. There was a conference call this morning before my regular starting time that I had to attend, so I took a short break to check in. Will be back later.0 -
Darn! We actually had sun today and it was almost warm, so we took a nice walk on my hilly route in the early evening. But at the end of the day with 9600 steps, I am still about 300 kcals over because of all the sugar and carbs I had today. I ate the leftover bowtie pasta and salmon salad at lunch, and then hubby made a marinara with Italian sausage sauce to eat with yet more pasta. So I'm on carb overload and you know how lousy that makes you feel. Tomorrow has to be a no sugar and no refined carb day. In fact, I need several of those days.
Work is frustrating. Honestly, it is so hard to keep track of everything pouring into 6 inboxes. I end many days feeling I got nothing done. I think I'm a bit ADD, and this type of work can really stir it up. And I learned today that our media director--the one who deals with the press, the televised meetings with the Surgeon General, and all that type of thing in our program area--has been promoted to the Office of the Director and will be leaving us. He is one of my favorite staff members, and I'm delighted for him, but concerned about the impact of his loss.
So all in all, I'm glad to have a couple of days break, even if I do need to spend a chunk of the weekend getting flex spending receipts submitted, getting some insurance issues taken care of, paying bills, and other things that will mean time at this desk. Honestly, I think I'm going to grow roots right out of my hiney into this chair. LOL
I hope that all of you and your loved ones are continuing to be well. It was kind of sad today to realize that it should have been opening day for baseball. The year 2020 is turning out to be nothing like any of us expected, but I hope out this we can develop more appreciation for those normal, ordinary days. Take care everyone.0 -
Good morning!
Another post brought to you from my home work station I set up a folding table in our loft area and have my office area completely set up. I'm tweaking it daily to make it more comfortable and better to work at. Originally I was set up in the basement, as to stay away from the kids and hubby so they could still live their life, but it was far too cold and dreary down there so I moved. They now love having the space in the basement to work out and play video games. The kids actually slept down there last night on an air mattress. Kind of like camping out I guess.
I haven't been getting a ton of exercise but still managed to go for a longer walk last night with Shawn, which was nice. My food eating has been good though, so that's a bonus. I haven't weighed myself in a while, so that could be interesting when I do.
Well we had our province's first death yesterday. All we know is it was a lady in her 60's who was in critical condition in hospital earlier in the week. Our country is now just under 5000 cases with 55 deaths. I seriously can't believe your president's response to this. I just don't understand how he is your leader. Sorry for my political rant.
Well today my goal is to get on the treadmill at some point and to drink more water. My coffee intake has been increasing by the day
Great job on the late night treadmill walking again Sarah!

It's so nice to see your posts here . . it helps reduce the feelings of isolation. Last night our family had a "virtual happy hour" party online on the "Zoom" app. It was so fun to see and talk to everyone, including all our grandkids. Our little two year old grandson is getting so big! It hurts that I can't hug and kiss them all, but at least the technology allows a visit. I decided to go big, so I made a fancy plate of cheeses and crackers with olives, etc. and we opened up a bottle of a nice Zinfandel wine, our kids did similar and we virtually shared our drinks and toasted "Social Distancing", lol. The grandkids showed their schoolwork from last week, and the blanket forts they have built to sleep in as a fun Friday night distraction. It was fun
Kelly, sounds like your kiddos are doing their best to have fun too. We can learn a lot from the resilience of kids. Glad you're still getting your walk. I agree with you regarding the orange man, lol. Thank goodness for the governors of the states trying to lead the way. I'm sorry to hear you had a death. Our state now has 602 cases and 2 deaths. The cases jumped up 122 just since yesterday. Wow.
Great work getting your walk done, Sarah. I am so missing baseball and ALL sports! Hubby and I are really in sports withdrawal. And, I hope your workload eases . . I can't imagine handling six inboxes!
I got a (slow) walk on the treadmill yesterday. It's cold and cloudy here today, so I plan to just clean out the fridge and pantry. I place an order online yesterday for a few groceries to pick up, and we can't pick up until Tuesday afternoon. I guess we can go in before the store opens for "senior hours", but I'm not in desperate need of anything, and I just want to avoid touching any surfaces at all. I'm positive that I would not do well with my lungs should I get this virus.
Stay positive ladies! I'm so grateful you're here.0 -
Oh my goodness I am loving the posts!!! We were notified yesterday that we will continue to work remotely until further notice. I love my walking to/from work. Sheesh - no worries...somehow there is NO ONE out whenever I'm out walking. Seriously bizarre. Kids on the corner are playing basketball, but they stay on the other side of the street but no other adults when I'm out... I see them from the door when I hear the neighbors dogs going crazy, but the three times I'm out - no one. Neighbors across the street bought the wife a bike today, they went riding on a bike trail that had just opened up this past year about a 1/4 mile from our house..it follows the a river bed, the Agua Fria (dry except when we get heaving rains then it can be a raging gorge). But the pathway is nice and it goes for about 20 miles I think. They only went a couple of miles down as a test. I may run to walmart and buy a bike to go ride with them..haha. I walked the trail once but it felt way to remote for me to be down there by myself, but if I can go with them on bike...thinking thinking thinking.
Our weather was beautiful, then it got chilly and now it's beautiful again. I keep looking at the patio table and I think I may have to go out there to work this week. I've been hoping to work on some training plans, and then I could because I could just use my laptop and not need my 2nd monitor.
I'm still quite sore from training with Chrissy the other day. I spent the day cleaning my floors, oh lordy. We've had the doors open all week and with the wind, Roomba swept up so much crud and the water in the floor cleaner was dirtier than normal...ick. but today they are refreshingly clean. I make gift baskets on the side for my company to give to new homeowners. I need to order supplies for buyers closing at the end of April...wth I can't get my crackers and cheese from Cost+, handsoap or dish soap...eek. I've enlisted my neighbors to keep on the lookout as they are shopping. Our grocery store is limiting it to one per family so I picked up one of each. I may have to go every day...I'm not hoarding but I need three more to make it through my scheduled closings...
Sheesh I love your idea of the zoom family gathering. I did zoom dinner with my other daughter Audrey Thursday night. Dinner wasn't planned but I was eating and so was she when we finally connected - so we had dinner together. It was nice. Facetiming with the son and Rhea tomorrow. Since hubby is still teaching classes - even though it's only three or four at a time, we don't want to take a chance of accidental exposure. The studio can't afford to close and if hubby doesn't teach, he doesn't get paid. Per hubby, the kids are excited to train as they say they are not allowed to play with any of their other friends or leave their house/backyard. So praying that is accurate.
Sarah - I don't know how you get on the treadmill at midnight, I'm not even on as late as you here 3 hours behind you. In the winter time I guess we'd be on closer to the same time but not now. I'm in bed by 9 or 10 which is midnight or 1am for you.
Sheesh - hoping to hear good news about your daughters wedding
Kelly - still glad you're working from home and not having to travel right now.
Oh I hit the nursery this morning and found my cucumbers and lettuce plants. I now have a complete garden started. Hoping it bears yummy veggies soon. The only plant I am not able to get anything from are tomatoes...they just will not grow for me.0 -
Once again, one of my posts vanished. I will do my best to get back here tomorrow and remember what I said! Wonder what is going on with MFP?0
