We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.nn

This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!

Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.

Topic: Learning or discovering new ways to prepare or eat differently while at home?

Have you been able to discover any new ways to either prepare foods while being at home or discover anything additional about your habits while practicing social distance?

Even though I've been home post surgery with complications I still feel the pressure of observing this social distancing from people. At my age (72) and being at risk with my past surgery to with active wounds I'm just doing my best to be careful. I have been riding with DW on a few errands but staying in the car trying to keep my exposure to a minimum even though DW isdoing her best to keep safe.

So I have been doing many things that are work related from home which as a Real Estate Broker I have been doing via remote from phone or laptop for years.

I've been seriously doing my best to track and eat moderately and correctly. I've done my best so far to make the right choices every meal. Is it a challenge for me? you bet but keeping focused on the journey day by day.

I’ve always eaten out a lot. Even when I first started WW I ate out. I’ve always managed to make it work. If I ever get back to my favorite restaurants I’m going to have to take a hard look at how I’ve been crunching the numbers. Because I’ve been doing some consistent undercounting when out. So far that’s what I’ve gotten out of this.
