I hear the term New Norm. What's that mean to you?
Just wondering.

The way things are, and may be for the forseeable future.

Boy. Good question. Very different in the short term. Trying to imagine crowds at sporting events.

I can't imagine any crowded venues at all. Concerts, sporting events, holiday parades, you name it.

The mere thought of having to ride an elevator with strangers creeps me out. Fortunately, I haven't worked in the city for a very long time (13th floor when I did).

I'm likely to lose out on the money I put down for airfare for a conference in New Orleans in June. No doubt it will be cancelled. The university will not reimburse me so I'll end up with some sort of voucher with Southwest Airlines. I'm going to look into seeing if I can donate that to a charitable cause because the thought of being on a plane flight with strangers gives me massive anxiety. I'd much rather drive than fly. I was feeling that way before the pandemic but now I really don't want to ever fly again. My husband has not flown since 2003 and refuses to do so ever again.

For the forseeable future it means living with a larger household of people than at any time in my life and particularly in the past 8 years (6 people vs 2). At least in theory the lockdown restrictions will ease in a few months and people will be able to go back to work in some form, but that could still be as much as 12 months away depending on which "expert" opinion I read so I expect to be like this for a while. After that I expect that there will be some significant differences in society though I don't want to try and predict them.

The New Norm needs to realize it will be here for a long time.
Until a vaccine is here it will continue. Then get it to everyone!

The New Norm: Pragmatically adapting to the current reality...a dynamic concept that will never cease to change.

    The New Norm:
Change, Changing, Being Careful, Thinking through whether I want to even participate where crowds gather.
Being watchful and being aware. It's almost too eery to describe. The future deffinitely may look different going forward as far as awareness to my surround settings.
Who knows but really a weird term The New Norm.
