@snowshoe072 I'm right there with you. I'm not slim but I'm okay with me. I'm fit for the life I enjoy.
@stella7x7 Congratulations to you too! That change in strength is significant and you are getting stronger and healthier!

I got yes x 3 today.
325 minutes between inventory and painting. I’m so over painting! 😵 Today and tomorrow? Trim work, and it’s soooo slow going and underwhelming. Dull white to bright white. Ooooooooh. 🤦🏼♀️
Under calories and logged everything.
NSV’s for me this weeks was that I had/have the stamina to work then come home and paint my @$$ off. 😁[/quote
Miss Julie,
Make sure you take some time to relax and stretch, yoga maybe? The last time I painted my entire house I got frozen shoulder and 1/2 (left was slightly so). It took 2 years to rehabilitate. I just went full blast until I couldn't go anymore. The house got painted and looked great, but wasn't worth the cost of my health. Of course, you're probably a young whippersnapper who can handle burning the candle at both ends. Just a heads up...
My latest NSV is being able to fit into all of my "big" clothes. It doesn't sound like a victory, but a few months ago I was almost popping out of them. Now I can confidently pull them on out of the dryer. I'm looking forward to retiring them before I need to replace them. I'd already replaced them once from wearing them out. I've been working out with DVD's during quarantine and graduated to Level 3 this month- another victory!
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes: 30-minute strength, 1-hour walk
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes4 -
Morning run went well, shaved another minute off my 4km time, down to under 28 minutes now. Then got some banking sorted out and dragged my housemate to donate blood with me, it was her first time and my 95th! So proud of her as she hates needles. Home to watch series together and enjoy a treat, but good food choices overall and within budget.
A brief history for those who don't know me. I discovered Jiu Jitsu in May 2015, in my mid 30s and in a few months had for what felt like the first time in my life reached a healthy weight. The jiu jitsu lifestyle is a healthy one and the team you train with makes all the difference. My team do focus on healthy in many ways but we all enjoy treats as well, so it is a good balance to learn. A double concussion at my first competition in February 2016 slowed me down a bit, but after my 6 month no contact sport break was over I was back on the mat. Maintained the weight and fitness well over the next few years, adding judo to my training in late 2018. First judo competition in February 2019 ended in a broken arm (snapped radius and ulnar) which was actually harder to recover from than the concussion as my bones healed slower due to my age. Before I was cleared to train again, we got approval for me to donate my kidney to a friend. Surgery went well, despite a collapsed lung, but now my arm was better and I wasn't allowed to use my core which meant no training. Approval from all my doctors to do what I want in early September was quickly squashed by my physio due to my left shoulder seizing up (combo of broken arm and collapsed lung and being over 40 apparently). Once that was loosened the right one did the same from overcompensation. Finally cleared from that in March and get back on the mats a couple of weeks before lockdown hits!!! So, over a year out of training for me, and although I lost my fitness, I kept the weight mostly in control, gaining about 6kgs from my previous walking around weight (I need to drop 3 more though as my new walking around weight needs to be my fighting weight as weight cuts are not allowed on one kidney!)
Lockdown meant pretty hectic work schedule for me (animal care on skeleton staff) and the first couple of weeks were exhausting. I then spent April getting some of my old routines going which were important for my healthy lifestyle and mental wellbeing. This included prepping food for the week, getting enough sleep etc. I did some yoga occasionally but mostly my exercise was lugging heavy boxes of fish around at work.
At the beginning of May I added a few other elements to my routine, including daily runs (yay for relaxed lockdown rules) and 5 online jiu jitsu classes per week (my house mate also trains so we can drill together!) Since the start of the month, not only has the scale started heading down, but my running is getting better (I have a big list of stats to prove this) but my ability to dig deep and push through the hard parts of the run is coming back (This is a skill you learn in jiu jitsu because training is often hard, and you won't progress if you give up when it gets difficult.) My ability to do some of the harder jiu jitsu moves is improving as my core is finally getting stronger again (I joke that the surgeons removed all my core muscles when the took the kidney). I'm also doing some good jiu jitsu based yoga which is fun, killer and helpful. Plus, having a good routine going in my life is great for my mental wellbeing and I'm loving life even if we are in lockdown. I get paid, I get to go to work which I love (it includes swimming with a baby seal as part of my job...) and I get to exercise. There are some things I'm missing, but life is good for now and I will get those aspects back one day!10 -

Exercise: Yes, 60 mins walk
Calories: Yes
Tracked: Yes
My NSV is I am in my calorie range everyday for 90 days execpt pass days! It would take at least a week to go back to my diet after a bad day but thanks to UAC I am on track right after the pass day.
Happy Birthday! @SuziQ1135 -
Yes x 3. NSV - way to go everyone! My pants are loose AND someone I hadn't seen in awhile told me.."you look great." I've lost 2 pounds in these 2 weeks, I'm back on track, thanks for this challenge Ranger Rick.4

Yes, yes, and yes. It was a good day.3

Yes x3 A rest day for me, and then I fell asleep before I could post here.
NSV day: I've been in maintenance since November 2019. My biggest NSV is being able to fit in normal-sized clothes. No XL clothes for this 5'3" woman. I can wear a sweater with jeans and don't have to hide bulges under a jacket. I'm still surprised when I see my reflection in a mirror. Nothing beats being a normal weight.

I woke up this morning and needed some motivation with my morning coffee. Reading all the NSVs here was all I needed. Thank you all. I love NSVs.
@Dory_42 - you are a true inspiration. Thank you for your story.
@nodm - my bones too? Jeez. I’m going to have to start reading up on that. I’m 55 and have been on high dose steroids on and off for most of my life so my bones are probably shot.
Okay. Time to start my day. Thank you all for the motivation!!4 -
@readyornot1234 😳 High dose of steroids for a long time??? Better check. I read that muscle (atrophy) and bone loss are some of the side effects. Good thing you are keeping an eye on your LBW. Advancing age also adds to the muscle loss. Take care!
BTW I finally got my first notification on your post! I think MFP may ne listening. lol
Have a great day all!
Today I am working on water intake 💦readyornot1234 wrote: »I woke up this morning and needed some motivation with my morning coffee. Reading all the NSVs here was all I needed. Thank you all. I love NSVs.

My NSV: I am going to second what @Hulya_79 said. Pre-UAC, one bad day would have led to many more, but not now! I am walking most days, and feel better and lighter on my feet each time. Sorry for yesterday's post....it was definitely a negative one among all the positives! I didn't read any yesterday, I just posted my "Pass". Not sure how I am going to do this Challenge without a phone. I could adjust my daily intake goal based on activity level estimated by # of steps? I'll have to do some math and some research, or maybe I'll just post and leave the "under" part blank. (The scale will tell me if I am a "Winner"). TBD
@juliemouse83, your sarcasm made me chuckle!!
@SuziQ113, Happy Belated Birthday! (I was away from home most of yesterday and got behind on my MFP reading). It sounds like you had a good one!6 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - plenty of exergame walking plus pacing-the-floor breaks when my bunns hurt from sitting in front of the work computer for extended time
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Days goals met: 13
Pass days used: 2 (1 pre-planned; 1unintentional)
NSVs- despite about to start my 9th week of working from home (with no end in foreseeable future) and losing all those habitual step-stretching strategies ... I have not only arrived at maintenance range (at the end of March) but for the past 6 weeks I have been gradually increasing my calorie intake yet managing to offset via activity sufficient to remain stable
- As of today, my daily calories-in goal (still slightly below where MFP first suggested) is now HIGHER than when I first started on MFP to chip away at my obese for my height status
- and that's with a "sedentary lifestyle" setting to maintain - gain slightly
- all my summer clothes are either too loose or FINALLY FIT again! Including summer dresses!
- FINALLY got our little 7 c.f. chest freezer delivered - so future NSV will include "expanded premade portable lunch options" (even though the "portable part" won't be essential to my work routine for some time to come - all the more reason to start practicing NOW ... )

Howdy peeps - Well, it is a gloriously RAINY DAY...hard core kind of rain... here! I woke up and went back to bed. Heard my pup get up and so I rushed to let him out and start my day...in mid-morning! Sorry, not sorry...sleeping in on a rainy day just had to be done. ;D I started a new "challenge" with a friend today...and I might regret it. lol You are to drink a gallon of water a day...and every time you have to relieve yourself...you do 25 squats. Before the day is through...I know I will have done 200 squats. I won't be able to walk! lol Anyway - I'll see how long I can keep this up. Join me if you dare! Also, I have a treadmill that gets used occasionally. I'm going to aim to add a mile in every day on it regardless of other activity. Perused a MPF board for ways to increase activity in the day to day. Fun little board. Tips on there that stood out to me were: Make multiple trips to put up laundry...instead of "muscleing your way" to do it in one, do lunges as you do the dishes/squats etc..., every 20 minutes - do 10 of some type of exercise(set your phone, app, alexa/google to remind you), Planks - one minute every hour so forth.5

@fatbambi2017 Well done!! I'm very happy to read your NSV!2

@MadisonMolly2017 Now you are starting to sound a bit eccentric. What if someone hears you pounding up that mountain and muttering your BMI and labs to yourself?
Be careful out there!!2 -
