Another Question about All Pro

I am doing week 3 of cycle 1 with dumbbells. My DBs go in 5lbs increments and 10lbs total weight increments. So I use the same weight every day of the week as opposed to 10% less 2nd day and 20% less 3rd day.
Is that ok?

You could do 2 heavy days a week (separated by at least 2 rest days). However, according to the All Pro FAQ, doing this will impede recovery while also reducing overall volume, so it is not IDEAL. Doing 3 heavy days per week would be worse and not at all as the routine is meant to be done.

Is there really no way for you to adjust the weight in smaller increments? I've read about some really clever solutions including pieces of metal of a certain weight and magnets.

Good idea. I will try to find some magnets. Thanks :)

I actually do not really have an issue with keeping the weigh the same, assuming you are not having recovery issues.

Changing up the weights on days 2 and 3 will become easier as the weights get heavier. When I was in the first few cycles I opted for just using the next lowest weight, at least for the working sets (sometimes that meant being more than 10 or 20% difference). I'm using magnetic weights now to create more accurate numbers, here's what I came up with:

Thanks Sarah, I do not have recovery issues either.

that's a very good idea, but mine are all rubber hex (8, 10, 15, 20, 25lbs) except for the 12lbs - plain metal hex

You might still be able to do it. You'll need Grade N52 Neodymium Magnets. They are tiny and crazy strong!! I have trouble pulling them apart. I got the 3/8" x 1/8" size from CMS Magnetics (http://www.magnet4sale.com/). I paid about $15 for 36 of them with $2 s/h. My previous gym had rubber hexs and I got a magnetic wreath holder to stick to it, so I think these shouldn't be a problem.
