I'm technically obese again. I've gained one pound per day for the last 5 days.
I'm definitely not having 5000 calorie days so I know it's not fat, but it's seriously disheartening. I don't know what's going on but I'm really struggling not to cry about this. Maybe the fiber again? My stomach doesn't hurt but its loud lately.
I don't want to eat food anymore. It just wrecks my stomach and makes me sick.7 -

I’m sorry it’s such a struggle. I know exactly what you mean and send a virtual hug to ease your self-recriminations. You’ve tried a lot of different things to keep things moving so, if I mention something that’s a repeat, disregard.
My system has always had a committee meeting whenever anything is deemed “new” or “odd”. It leaves me bloated and often clogged up for days at a time. When it’s touchy like that, I fond cooked veggies (nothing raw) the only thing that brings it around. Enzymes can get off kilter and raw food aggravates the heck out of it.
Homemade miso soup helps soothe the beast and also tastes good and is easy to make.
I buy miso paste at the grocery store (health food store might be the only choice).
In a small pot, cook some grated carrot, thinly cut celery, onion, mushrooms, and freshly chopped greens (your choice). After cooking all veggies for 5-8 minutes, add the chopped greens and turn off heat. While it’s simmering down, add the miso (thin out in a cup first so it’s easier to add). Fresh ginger root (ground) adds a nice zip, if you like it. (Your belly will...)
I hope that will do for you what it has for me.
Good luck.
This stretch of the road is NOT a moral condition. Repeat that sentence and be kind to yourself. You’ll get your body back where you want it. Keep well.

Sunday steps: 7,440
Monday: 7,000
Tuesday: 8,200
Things are amazing. My spouse admitted that they need to lose weight and we started walking after each meal. Wow! Support to eat better and exercise, too. Hurrah!

Good evening - or whatever time it is where you are.
@deniners2 - I'll move you to Friday for June, since you have already weighed in for this week (week 4 of May). But please post your weight on Friday anyhow, and I'll use that as your starting weight for June. Then you'll just go on Fridays from then on. Thanks!
@Terytha - I hope my sister's ideas help! @evelynladams527 is usually good at figuring out these things. It sure sounds like something is askew, and I hope you get it turned around soon
@evelynladams527 - great news! walking after the meals, and working on making the meals lighter is so much easier together than alone. And look at the steps! Keep 'em coming!
It was so HOT today I didn't get as many steps as lately and it was a kind of slo-mo day. I also succumbed to temptation and had some cookies. Damn, they were good. But too many... I had a picnic with a friend, and she handed over a bag of them as she was leaving. Homemade, and they seriously pushed the "keep eating" button. Thanks, I think?
Wednesday weigh-ins! The last of May.

Ugh so I had this whole post typed out and I hit the “done” button instead of “post reply” soooo I lost the whole things. I haven’t posted here in a few days so I just wanted to check in and tell you about my goods and bads so far this month. First I set 2 goals for myself for the month of May 1) do 60 miles walk, jog, run, crawl. It didn’t matter as long as I did them... as of right now I have 9.3 more miles to go!!! 2) was go the full month with NO sweets 🍫 🍨, today is the 26th sooo I have 5 more days and so far not a single sweet!! That has definitely been the biggest struggle. Sweets are MY addiction y’all! So those where my goods. My bads? Eh well I’d like to think I don’t have any but boy would my husband say I was lying lol. But so far the scale is a struggle, I feel like I’m doing so well, jogging pretty much daily, staying at my calorie goal and still the scale stays pretty steady. I’m in a deficit but still not really losing. My other thing isn’t really bad but I’d pike to be alittle more active here. So I think I’ll add posting here to my June goals!! Y’all are so supportive I truly do appreciate this whole community!!!4

I honestly just don't know what is happening!!
I'm falling so far behind and I just don't know why!! I start reading and get distracted...then 2 days have gone by...WHAT???
I will try harder...that's about all I can do...
I am returning to work June 5 - not looking forward to it...grrrrrrrrr

Happy Tuesday night. Almost over. I watched my sweet granddaughter today. She is so sweet and getting to have conversations with her now his so thrilling.
I met my steps goal today. I’m currently at 8,577. I’m hoping I can do my Pilates again tomorrow. I logged all my food and was under goal. No specific exercise other than dancing with Juliet, jogging in place for 9 minutes, and following a 2 year old around.
Hope to get more exercise minutes tomorrow.3 -

What a great idea for the salad dressing! I love caesar but never let myself have it. I'll have to try your tip!!3 -
If you have a minute, reflect on your month of May. What flowers bloomed for you? What weeds are you having to pull? What are your plans for a beautiful June?
My May was not my best month. In fact, it’s been one of my worst. I began the month with a concussion and ended it with a fall. I am doing fine now, but it threw off my exercise, which I was doing very well with since the beginning of this year. I have gained each week and I’m up about 5 pounds (some days) from my lowest point (which was very fleeting).
My creativity bloomed a bit with a new interest in playing with watercolors.
I have a lot of weeds to pull. I need to log everything and keep my calories under goal. Get my exercise back on track. Change up my ice cream dessert for other more healthy things most days.
My goal for a beautiful June is to have, at least, a 3 pound loss. I need to lose weight because it’s not moving. I know I’m fitter, but I need both. 🙏🏼😘

It has been a busy few days. I spent much of the weekend outdoors and finally cleaned out our sun porch (been meaning to do that for a couple years now!) As well as finished planting the veggie garden and weeded/put down mulch in my herb/flower bed. Still have more mulch to put down and of course weeding never really ends but I'm happy with the progress this far.
As far as the month of May goes, I haven't had much success in pounds lost as of yet, been losing and gaining the same couple of pounds. I partially blame hormones, but I know I really need to work on eating less and not slacking with logging on the weekends.
On the other hand, my physical activity this month has increased significantly. In the past I would average 2500-3000 steps per day with reaching my goal of 4250 once or twice per week. This month I upped my goal to 5000 steps per day and I have met or exceeded (sometimes double or almost triple!) that goal all but 3 days so far. I also increased my exercise goal to 3 days per week and I've exceeded that every week this month. Over the weekend I went hiking and didn't feel winded or tired at all which felt really good. I love seeing a difference in endurance!
For June I want to keep up the physical activity and really work on lowering my calorie intake. I like the idea of not eating exercise calories, perhaps I will shoot for a few (3 or 4?) days per week where I stick to my original calorie goal despite what is earned through exercise.5 -
We had planned to play our first round of golf this morning but we had a monster thunderstorm blow through, a bit unusual for us. Mostly we get them in the evenings or overnight. So it ended up being an indoor day but I never really got my head sorted to an indoor To Do list from my outside list so didn't accomplish much. Frustrating when I know it is something I could have got on top of but didn't...
But tomorrow is a new day!3 -
So yesterday was good, I got my exercise done that I skipped in the morning, then got some treadmill time in, I started a new show since I finished Downton Abby on Monday.. It's called World on Fire... So far it's pretty good, cept it has Helen Hunt in it, I never cared for her... Anywho... Finished the book - If the Creek don't Rise, it was pretty good, I was iffy in the beginning, but I liked it, the ending was awesome ! So I think tonight I will start the one about Mermaids... I don't think it's actually about Mermaids, I think it's just in the title.. LOL
Steps for 5/26 = 10,379
As for my May, It was pretty good, I got back on the wagon, and although the scale isn't doing great, it's not horrible, I gained in April and am slowly taking that off in May.. I have not in the past 8 years been able to get under 168lbs, so that will be my goal, as soon as I finally get outta the 170's that is.. My activity increased, I put alot more focus onto my steps, and went from 40k steps a week in the beginning of the month to 80K - so hopefully I can keep that up for June, although I need to pick back up the yoga and pilates.. I've been slacking greatly on them.. On Sunday I actually gave my favorite pilates video to my BIL, but he needed it more than me, he had back surgery in Feb and wants to focus on building his core, so his dr told him to start doing pilates... BUT now I have a reason to buy 2 new videos, cause that's they way it works right ....
Okay have a wonderful day !

Happy Wednesday!
We're expecting extreme heat here today, and we're wimps about that (but give me -20 any day...). I'll get out and water the gardens shortly, but otherwise will have a quiet day, I suspect. I will also make up for the many calories I went over yesterday! It is weird not to wake up super hungry. My big goal today is to get some hunger back and do some Pilates and stretching.
It is wonderful reading everyone's news. I especially enjoy the summary of the month and what is working. Big kudos to @jguldi11 for such an increase in steps and endurance, and to @SMcFall0215 for awesome commitment to both the NO sweets and 60 miles for the month. I look forward to your next goal of posting daily! And @jguldi11 , your goal for working on the intake side of the equation is reasonable and I'm sure you'll see the results, even if they are slower than you'd like. Slow is sustainable!
@CanadianGiraffe - I was talking with my daughter when the crazy thunderstorms went through Wainwright, and it sounded pretty wild. Taking a bit of time off from the to-do lists is not such a bad thing - I am sure you'll be back at them mighty quick. The nice thing about to-do lists is that all the things on them will just keep waiting for you, infinitely patient
@Gidgitgoescrazy I'm still feeling jealous about your upcoming camping trip! I love those days of getting the tent and all the other paraphernalia together. I hope your back pain is gone by Friday and that you find some terrific new Pilates resources.
@fourathomej - it is truly amazing how the days go by right now, I feel you! Enjoy these days before you go back to work
@micki48 your goals are also looking really good, after a month of recovery from the mishaps that life likes to throw our way. I'm glad to see that your knee does not seem to be giving you too much trouble - that is often a long and annoying recovery. June will see the scale back to creeping down, I'm sure!
Watch out for the DONE button, everyone. It is out to get you. I loves the sound of that anguished groan every time3 -

Good riddance May. June will be a green month for me!! Goal for June is 170 lbs.3 -
Good morning friends! ANOTHER rainy day here and we have a tropical storm, Bertha, brewing off the coast set to hit us on Wednesday. So another wet week. I'll take the rain. I just want all the trees to stay standing in this saturated ground. Ain't nobody got time for a tree on their house!
@jugar I was able to do almost all of the waist slimming pilates routine except the part kneeling on my left knee. So I feel good that I was able to do something. Better get moving, I have coffee to drink and steps to take.
Psssst: @jugar Am I losing my mind or did you enter steps for Vikki, Sylvia and Evelyn?1 -
So, on a less whiny note today, husband and I are both impatient children and swapped anniversary gifts 2 weeks early because we couldn't wait to give them. We have previously done Christmas presents the first week of December too, that's just the kind of relationship we have.
Anyways I got him some cool artwork and now he's obsessed, wants to buy more. But it turns out choosing just a couple pieces of art is really hard. =P
Should look pretty neat once we have it all set up though.4 -
Hello all, hot here too, no garden work to get my steps in. I think I pulled an inner thigh muscle the other day when I overzealously went after quack grass. Just made some Sourdough English muffins - came out pretty good and now to calculate what they 'cost'. Gave in to chocolates a few times recently (with peanut butter!) and I know the remainder of that bag is still there - when it's gone, I won't buy any more. A dessert I've turned to and really enjoy now is apple sauce (no added sweetener, just maybe a little cinnamon) - it's surprisingly good. If I have calories left over in the evening, I'll weigh out by grams how much applesauce I can have.
@micki48 glad you're feeling better...no more injuries pls.
@Gidgitgoescrazy have a fantastic camping trip...I am jealous of the camping and canoeing. I am committed to getting out on our nearby tidal river for a kayak paddle at least twice this summer...so relaxing, especially when you time it just right and float with the tide.
Exercise Calories: I had my fitbit connected for a short time to MFP and then disconnected it again - I found it too distracting for my intake goals and wanted to consider any exercise calories as just a bonus towards weight loss, not so much a bonus for being able to eat more. Of course on those days that I have a lot of extra calories from exercise, if I go a little over my calorie goal, I don't beat myself up about it, I know there's some wiggle room.3 -

Good week. I have taken up gardening. Had to buy some pots and get some soil. Borrowed some gardening tools. Will plant peppers, Tomatoes and spices. I’ll start clearing out the tiny patch of grass this week.
Just saw this. I am going to plant basil, coriander and thyme 😅.5 -
@jugar Wew! Lol 😂 I had written them down and went to enter them and I was like, “Hmmmm, did I forget doing this?” Thank you ma’am. 😘
This day has been so gloomy. Rain. Rain. And more rain 🌧 Ugh, I literally have been in my house all day. I’ve played around with my new watercolors, but I have gotten very few steps. Not sure I could even walk my house to get enough to reach goal. Everything is logged. So far so good.3 -

Nice! It is so good to have fresh herbs - I just picked a ton of fresh oregano and thyme today - they are perennials and just spread more and more every year. Basil is still my favourite, though. It is good in everything!4 -

In bed a bit earlier today and ready to sleep off some weight! Can’t wait to get it lower. Doing more walking feels good.
I hope y’all have a good sleep.

I love basil. I put it in my water. So good. I also put it on my avocado toast with Roma tomato. And of course with mozzarella, tomatoes and balsamic glaze.
I also love cilantro. It is said you either love it or it tastes like soap. Lol 🤷🏻♀️ I can eat it plain or any way. On a boat or with I goat 🐐. I do love it so I could eat it anywhere. (That was my lame, late night attempt at Dr. Seuss.)
I planted some basil outside, but it may have floated away by now.

That’s nice...I’ll also add oregano to the list. I love that spice.
