Good morning all!
Thanks for starting our new month off, @KateNkognito
@mamainthekitchen glad you found that app! I think it should automatically update your walks and stuff to MFP but check your settings to make sure. Hope you like it!
I weighed in this AM and I am the same as last week. That's okay! Better than a gain for sure. Going to focus more on getting out and about this week for walks as it should be nice weather.
Tough times and some changes happened today at work, but knock wood my job is safe. Staying focused and feeling grateful. We will all get through this.
Have a good Friday and a good weekend. Chat soon.0 -
I hope everyone is doing well. It looks like May is going to be bringing some changes. I will keep praying for everyone. I keep thinking of the old curse, "May you live in interesting times." This sure is interesting, alright! Have a good weekend! Stay healthy!

Well, I weighed myself this morning and I am officially fat again. That's what comes of two or three weeks of not doing what I am supposed to do. So, I am tracking. I am walking. I am fasting. Pray for me!2

Good morning all.
Happy Monday! Hope you had a good weekend.
We had a nice walk on Saturday and Sunday. Seems that summer weather is finally showing up around here. Thank God!
Been sticking to my Keto WOE and feeling good. Hope everybody is well.
See you soon.2 -
I don't know if it is the weather, the moon phase, or what, but everyone is in a bad mood. I think I am going to put in some earbuds and watch a happy movie. I am fasting today. It is so humid that I will do an indoor walk. I hope everyone has a good week! Glad the weather is nice for you Meghan!0

Good morning all!
LOL @KateNkognito I hope you had a good rest of the day and a good fast yesterday.
Hi @mamainthekitchen hope things are good in your neck of the woods!
Hello to anyone else reading.
I made a new batch of mini sugar free lemon cheese cakes and they came out awesome! Keto WOE is good. Plugging along and drinking my water, taking my vitamins, etc. More good weather planned for the coming week so planning more walks.
Things are good here. New Corona Virus cases continue to go down in our area which means if that continues, we will be able to open up Connecticut on May 20. Looking forward to getting back to a little more normalcy. Whatever "normal" is. Some of the beaches have been opening back up in our area. Fingers crossed that our town opens up soon! Cannot wait to be able to hit the beach.
Have a great day all! Stay well.0 -
I could have sworn I posted yesterday...
@Meghan509 That cheesecake sounds awesome! I hope you are able to get out and about soon.
@mamainthekitchen Did you get lost in the garden?
Yesterday was our anniversary. We had a nice little fiesta at home. Today is a fast day. I made it 15 hours before I had anything to eat. I might not have anything else until tomorrow. Our state has started to open up this week. Except for the urban areas, there have not been that many cases in the state. I was surprised to see kids at the grocery store, especially since they didn't have masks.
To everyone else: Have a great day. You are loved.0 -
Hi all!
Went in to the office today, even though it is closed. CREEPY... Had to get some items in the mail and get a few things done. Unfortunately, our Receptionist was let go, so a few of us are splitting up some of her tasks. Grateful to still have a job and am happy to help out however I can (safely).
Things are good here. Same. Sticking to my six hour eating window still, which is nice. At least during the regular work week Monday to Friday. Weekends I am more flexible. Yes, the mini cheese cakes are awesome!
@KateNkognito happy belated anniversary! Let us know how your fast went! Congrats. Yes, I am totally looking forward to the reopening of the states. Feeling antsy but understand we still need to be careful and things will be different.
@mamainthekitchen LOL yes do let us know if you got lost in the garden.
This coming Saturday, May 9 is my birthday. I turn 48 years young. No, we won't be heading off to the Caribbean for vacation, but in time we will plan a vacation once it is safe. Grateful for all the positive things in my life, including weight loss.
See you soon. Stay healthy!1 -
Hi all,
Hope your Wednesday was good and your Thursday goes fantastic!
Not much going on here. Following my Keto WOE and looking forward to the weekend. Weekly weigh in is tomorrow AM.
See you soon.0 -
My puppy gets his last round of shots tomorrow and I can finally take him to the park!!! looking forward to outdoor time that doesn't require me holding him the whole time0
-
I know that's unrelated to fasting lol! I'm also doing ADF and keto. No slip ups this week0
-
Once again, I know I posted yesterday and it didn't go through! Grr!
@Meghan509 Happy birthday!! I hope you have a nice day! I have gone to the school I work at a few times to help out with getting things to students and it is so strange to see the hallways so empty at a time when they are usually filled with students. Hopefully the beach will be open soon, and you can enjoy the sun and sand.
@cgcrutch Puppy! Have so much fun with him! My dog is 13 going on one. He bounds out of bed at the crack of dawn every morning. Dogs are the best! And the plus is, they want to eat all your dinner, so they *are* weight loss aids! LOL Keep up the good work!
I have really tried to fast this week. Really. But I keep getting side tracked by life. At least I have shortened my eating window since I get up in the morning and skip breakfast with the best of intentions.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!0 -
Good morning all!
I had one of those weeks where you stick to your eating window and you follow your WOE but you still end up with a gain?? So strange. Walked three days this week as well. Doubtful that it is a real gain. Not like I went hog wild on calories! Oh well. On to the next weigh in!
Congrats on the puppy @cgcrutch! We see so many people outside walking their dogs and are jealous. Enjoy! Also way to go on the fasting and Keto. Good luck!
@KateNkognito don't beat yourself up! This too shall pass. Yes, happy to be employed in this challenging economy and pandemic.
Thanks for the birthday wishes. Not sure what we will do tomorrow, since we are still in a holding pattern via state orders but that's okay! Got the whole summer to celebrate.
See you guys soon!0 -
Welcome to a new week! My weekend was pretty nice. The weather was beautiful, so I spent a lot of time outside. I got a walk with the dog in on Saturday, as well as a pretty good fast. For Mother's Day we were pretty chill, had a nice lunch and relaxed. Today is very chilly and wet. It is supposed to be even colder tomorrow. I am fasting today, as well. I have a renewed motivation. I hope everyone has a great week! Stay healthy!0

Good morning.
Happy Monday.
Hope everybody had a nice weekend and a very nice Mother's Day (where applicable).
My birthday on Saturday was low key but very nice. We had a yummy take out dinner from Outback Steakhouse on Saturday night. Easy pick up and a nice meal. Definitely will do that again!
Have a good day all. See you soon.1 -
Happy Tuesday.
Hope everybody is well.0 -
Just another day, chuggin' along with my chubby self. I am kind of glad I have the extra insulation today. It is *cold*! I am planning on cleaning house and doing laundry. Wild and crazy times. I might even run to Walmart! Have a great day! Stay healthy!!0
-
Hi all!
Hope everybody is good. Went in to the office today for a few hours. Got back and had lunch. Productive and good day so far!
Have a great day and see you all soon.0 -
Morning, all! I hope there are people reading this, otherwise, Meghan and I are just talking to ourselves! LOL
The sun is finally shining and it is much warmer today! I am going to do a little gardening and get some fresh air later. I hope everyone is having a great day!0 -
Good morning.
Hope everybody is good. Where did everybody go??
I had my weekly weigh in today and I am the same as last week. All good. Slow and steady wins the race.
@KateNkognito yep it is quiet around here lately! Nice chatting with you. Hope you have a good weekend. Supposed to be beautiful here. Walks will definitely be on the agenda for us!
Very happy that our state is finally about to reopen. Wednesday of next week is "opening" day. Beaches will be open as well as of next weekend. You know where I will be. Definitely have to remain safe and go with the flow. Nothing crazy otherwise we will be in trouble again with Covid cases on the rise...
Stay safe, stay well all!
Have a nice weekend. See you soon.0 -
@Meghan509 Maintenance is good. I hope you enjoy your time at the beach! I am jealous! This weekend is just more of the same. We walk a little, the menfolk ride their bikes, we grill for dinner. Not an exciting life, but I like it.
We are just hanging out. It is storm season, so it has been cloudy. I had a terrible migraine yesterday, so I missed out on the sun. Today I plan on laundry and doing the gardening I meant to do yesterday. Have a nice weekend, everyone!1 -
I'm here! New Orleans just opened up this morning. I'm finally getting a Mani pedi well, waiting to get it...1
-
Hi all!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
Weather is good here. Went for a walk yesterday and same planned for today.
Sticking to my Keto WOE and feeling good.
See you soon!0 -
@cgcrutch Nice to hear from you! We are slowly opening up, here.
@Meghan509 Glad you had a nice weekend! The weather was fantastic and I got some gardening done.
I had a socially-distanced, front porch chat with a friend of mine. It was nice to talk to someone, other than my immediate family, live and in person.
Today, I am getting stuff checked off my list and fasting. I am going to try to stay as low carb as I can. If I start to feel weird, I will have some noodles. It is supposed to be lovely weather all week, so the plan is to get outside and walk, walk, walk. I got on the scale yesterday and I am fat again. (Actually, morbidly obese, but whatever.) SO, back on the wagon for me. Have a great week! Happy fasting! Stay healthy!

Happy Monday all.
Hope everybody had a fabulous weekend.
We went for a walk yesterday and headed to Target afterwards to pick up a few things. Wal-Mart had a HUGE line to get in both Saturday and Sunday so Target saved the day! Also managed to find some hand sanitizer, which we are keeping in the car.
Looking forward to Wednesday when our state starts to re-open. Have a dental appointment scheduled later this week (had been scheduled for April but they were closed) and have a hair appointment scheduled for next week. Slowly but surely we will get back to some kind of a new normal.
A week from today is Memorial Day (US). That came up fast it seems! Anyone doing anything fun?
Goals for this week are to stick to my Keto WOE and get a few walks in since the weather should be nice. Hope everybody is doing well. See you soon.0 -
This group got quiet...
Hope everybody is good. See you soon.1 -
Hey ladies I'm still kicking around. Happy birthday @Meghan509 happy to hear your job is safe. @KateNkognito hope your "wagon ride" is smooth lol
Weight loss for me has been pretty slow now for the last few months, but my weight is still creeping down. When doing 18:6 or OMAD I seem to maintain even with less than ideal food choices occasionally. I will admit there's been a couple of bags of candies that I've consumed, and some ice cream here and there. Mostly I eat low carb and I'm happy with the balance of occasional indulgences and decent food choices that keeps me maintaining. As soon as I do an extended fast (typically 48 hours or more) my weight jumps down a pound or two so this really makes me feel in control of my weight. If I want to lose, I know I need to find a way to get a fast in, if I'm ok with maintaining then OMAD or 18:6 works wonders.
While I'm happy with my "maintenance progress" I'm ready to start making some serious progress on my last 15-20 pounds! So starting yesterday I began a fasting protocol called the "Clark Method" which is just a series of extended fasts. You fast for two days, eat for two, fast for three, eat for two, fast for four, eat for two, then finally fast for 5 days. I'm currently in the middle of my day two fast, and it's feeling really easy at the moment. I'm hoping the right mindset will have me sailing through the next 19 days with ease. I'm thinking 8 pounds is a realistic goal but hoping for closer to 10. 10 lbs will get me to 160lbs. Once I reach 160lbs I'm not sure exactly how much more I want to lose and I think losing slower again will be better as I navigate exactly where I want to be.
It seems a bit surreal to be close to my goal weight and to be thinking about navigating the last 5 or 10 pounds of weight loss, and maintenance soon. For my whole life, I've always wanted to be skinnier than I was. Fasting has changed my life and sometimes it's mind-blowing to think I actually have control of my weight.
Much love everyone, hope you're all keeping safe.2 -
Good morning all!
@A_Dabauer congrats on your progress! Good luck with your fast! Yes, I know what you mean about feeling in control of your weight and finding that you have really found something to get you to your goal.
I am in the same boat. I feel that way about Keto and doing 18:6 during the work week. I do my version of fasting, as I drink coffee with half and half and monk fruit sweetener during my fasting window. I also drink a lot of water and herbal teas like Green Tea, etc. On the weekends I will enjoy a cocktail or two and I will do more of a lazy keto where I don't track everything I eat, but I stay low carb.
Things are good here. My state opened today! You have no idea how excited that makes me. Definitely will be staying mindful and safe and working remotely for the time being but having even just a little more normalcy and freedom is good. Sigh...
Hope all is well with you guys. See you soon.1 -
Good morning, all! School is officially out for the summer. I am unemployed until my teaching contract starts in August, but I don't actually miss any paychecks or lose insurance, so it is all good. The weather is starting to look like summer, here. I am making plans to thoroughly clean the house and get everything organized before things get too crazy next school year.
@A_Dabauer Glad it is going well for you! Progress, even slow and steady, is a good thing. I can imagine it is a good kind of strange to be that close to your goal weight. Keep up the good work!
@Meghan509 I am glad that your state is opening up. It is a little strange to see so many people out and about. We are on the next phase of opening, which includes gyms and hairdressers. People are giddy with excitement.
To everyone else, we miss you! Have a great week and stay healthy!

Exciting times @meghan509 now that things are opening back up. We're in the opening stages here in Alberta too, but my city isn't yet because we were still seeing cases of community transmission. The current plan is things will start opening on Monday. Here in Canada, most places are opening a lot slower than in the States, for better or worse, I'm not sure. LOL
@KateNkognito I understand the giddy bit, I'm actually getting an illegal haircut tonight I have a friend that cuts hair on the side and when I booked with her originally, hairdressers were supposed to be open already...but then they moved the opening date for my city until next week...but we're keeping the appointment anyway. LOL One of the bad side effects of rapid weight loss is hair loss. My hair which is never super thick if falling out in handfuls, so I'm going to be cutting a lot of my length off so as it grows back it's not so out of sync with the rest of my hair.
My first two-day fast went really well. I did what's called a fat fast prior to starting. You basically eat as much bacon, eggs, avocado, steak as you can for 2-3 days. It really kills your appetite and cravings. I was really surprised at how effective it was. If anyone is struggling with carb cravings I totally would recommend trying it out.
Tomorrow I start my three-day fast, hopefully, things continue to be easy. I'm firmly in the 160s now which is exciting. This is the lowest weight I've been in about a decade, so it really feels like uncharted waters, as I reach weights I never expected to see again!
Much love, stay safe everyone!1
