You can post any excuse or complaint you want, but you MUST turn it into a positive.

Positive: So I played with my dog instead - what a workout!

I've really been stressed to the max the past couple weeks. I need to find better ways of dealing with my stress. Compared to many people, I don't have any REAL issues, but my thoughts about things can overwhelm me at times...

Anyway, Sunday afternoon was my most recent stressful event, but I still manages to study for my nutrition test instead of spending the whole night eating and procrastinating.

And yesterday, even though I didn't feel like doing it, I put on my workout clothes and told myself I would just do 25 mins of lifting - which turned into 60!

Last night, I didn't sleep very well, and was up from 3-5am, but I found that some meditation before I went to sleep really helped to quiet my thoughts. I want to develop a practice/habit of regular meditation/focused breathing.

@Steph_135 Best wishes for your nutrition test! Hopefully, you will enjoy better sleep tonight. As for "real" issues, I'm a firm believer that anything causing a person stress is considered a "real" issue. Even when I'm not particularly stressed about anything, but can't sleep because I can't quiet my mind, my body is still perceiving stress. Lately, I've started keeping a book by the bed to read when I have trouble falling asleep. (Right now I'm reading Sayer Ji's new book, "Regenerate.") It seems to help a little. Again, good luck on the test!

I had a thumping headache and back pain yesterday so my day did not go as planned. I did a walk first thing (about 3,000 steps) but negated that by turning to sugary snacks later. 😡

    Back to it today.👍

Thanks @Zella132 - I have been sleeping a lot better the past few nights.

@H2596 Pounding headaches are the worst. I had a personal training session one time when I had the worst headache ever, and I couldn't even get through it. I can also empathize with the back pain. I have arthritis in my spine. Movement (walks help my back a lot), stretching, and eating a lot of anti-inflammatory foods are the only things that help me sometimes. Fortunately, my back has only gotten better over the years (with weight loss, a chiropractor, and stretches from physio).

My physio therapist said weak glute muscles often contribute to lower back pain for women, and had me strengthen glutes and hips. Maybe that's something to look into, if you have chronic lower back pain too? I also use an ice pack over a towel (so it's not on the skin) if it's really aching sometimes, too, to lower inflammation and pain.

Fortunately I don’t suffer long term back pain but I think I was sitting too long instead of getting up and stretching like I might have done in the office. That’ll teach me! I know losing weight will help with my more general aches and pains.

@H2596 That's lucky! Yeah, sitting too long can really stiffen you up! Best wishes for a quick recovery! :flowerforyou:
