It's celebration day! Halfway through the month is time to share some of your victories...
My biggest one is that I'm holding my own when training Jiu Jitsu. Not only am I the smallest in our group, I've been training for the least amount of time, I'm the oldest, and I was out of training for a year and lost most of my strength and confidence. That is building back nicely though and I'm loving the training.
Today I shaved a minute off my run time and my heart rate is too low to get max points in my incentive program, which means I'm getting fitter. I also did about 40 minutes of yoga and we had a great active drill to run through for zoom class. Went shopping so the house is full of yummy healthy options. Ate well and within budget.
I got my heart rate chest strap back from a friend so I'm going to try and record my Jiu Jitsu session tomorrow.14 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, 3 hour hike with my dog
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yed
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
@Dory_42 what a fantastic list of victories! Great job!
As for me, I'm not too sure. My goal for all this primarily is weightloss, but that's not really happening. I'm happy that I am exercising much more, and really getting into a sold running routine, but it would be nice to see it reflected on the scale. Instead it just seems to be creeping up all the time! I'm clearly just eating much more than I think or my Fitbit is over estimating my calories.
But I will keep going, keep tracking and hope it's water weight which is slowing down the results!
Every day is a new day to do myself proud.10 -
Yes, yes, yes - a couple of good length walks today which I wouldn't have done if I hadn't been using MFP. I think my main victory this month (so far) is that I feel I'm getting to grips with logging all my food. I've managed 12 days straight (all under goal), which is new for me.13

The 15th of the month is traditionally our "report your NSV" day (non-scale victory) It can be any thing at all not related to the bathroom scale.
- clothes fitting better / need to be replaced
- more endurance by some measure or other (longer or farther or more reps or more weight or whatever)
- more consistently logging (even the not-so-great choices)
- used less passes so far this month
- whatever.
It doesn't even HAVE to be physical shape/appearance or exercise or Healthy Habit related (although it more often is - or a food related event handled well kinda thing)
I am branching out from the norm and reporting that I have volunteered to be this year's 1-week Team Lead for our Employee Appreciation Week Step-Challenge event. The fact that I am likely to be a major bolster to our team's combined totals despite being the oldest by more than a decade (and the youngest is younger than my only offspring!) is a secret hoot!13 -

Every day is a new day to do myself proud.
@ajdvegan settling into a solid running routine definitely counts as a NSV. Part of the point of today is to realize that there is more than one way to measure and define "Success".7 -
Yes to all three - 20 minutes of yoga.
My achievements are that I'm back to running 30 minutes solidly with no breaks - two runs in a row so not a fluke - I've had some hip problems and I overdid a run that set me back a lot. I was out today with my toddler and his little friend. Little friend did a runner and I jogged carrying my 3 year old until I caught his friend up and wasn't out of breath at all - it felt really easy.9 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes 25 mins of yoga and so much walking (23,000 steps!!)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes - just!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Half way through the month already! For me my victory is consistency. I’ve never really managed to log a while day before, so to do it every day for over two weeks is a big deal for me, I know where you are coming from @fairy_daisy! Plus, sticking to the calorie goal, I don’t think I’ve managed that much in the past either. So - feeling proud of myself.

@Dory_42 Thanks for opening the page!!
Yesterday and today, I disappeared due to a call that my biological father is failing and the doctor wanted all of the children to gather to discuss whether or not to put Dad Wayne on hospice. I had to drop everything and join my half-siblings for a meeting with the primary care physician.
I'll write more on this later, but we did decide that hospice care rather than curative care is appropriate.
I did get to speak with Dad Wayne. He has dementia but he stills knows me and the other adult children.
Due to the fact that my cell service provider does not have presence in that area, I was unable to post to the UAC.
I'm back.
Thanks again,

NSV: I’m not overeating even though I’m in the medical of some scary medical tests.
I’m also maintaining with ease for the first time in my life. I feel this is habit related! My hunch was eating out of as making it more difficult & I’ve now proved that IS the case. The cravings to eat out still appear, but we don’t eat out due to COVID. Hopefully I can still not eat out as COVID disappears.10 -
Yes x3
My NSV is feeling mentally better every day that I do exercise. It is a major factor at keeping my stress and anxiety in check.8 -
I’m sorry for the situation that you are in, Rick! That decision is a difficult one to make. My thoughts are with you and your siblings.
June 15th
Exercise? Yes, 1 hour of strength training
Calories? Yes
Tracking? Yes
I know it’s the point of the group, but tracking consistently is my NSV. I haven’t been this mindful of my eating habits in months. It feels great to focus on my physical health again.8 -
Yes x 3 for Monday
Tracked, on target, and did a 30 min walk.
Thoughts are with you and your family, Ranger Rick. Wishing you a peaceful week.
I don't feel like I have alot of NSV yet, I'm just barely starting to feel like my old self after hibernating for months. I suppose tracking again, eating clean, purchasing an actual scale for home to keep myself accountable: these are small but certainly count as victories in the long run.6 -

Yes X 3
My NSV is being able to walk with a gal that is almost 25 years my junior and to have her fall behind and breathing harder than me. My other NSV is walking with someone who I believe is close to my age and considerably overweight. She walked with my friend that is younger than I .... thinking were going to have to carry her back to her car..and that wasn't possible. Poor thing I felt so sorry for her. Staying active and chosing good food for the most part can be a life saver..literally.
Really enjoying the comments. Thanks for sharing. May more NSVs to come be in our future!!
Rick, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Sending hugs.

Yes, yes, and yes. It was a good day.5

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, I bought a well-made step ladder (called a Louisville Ladder, made for indoor work), carried it home in my car, set it up safely in my yard, made absolutely sure it wouldn't wobble, and cleaned my own gutters on my one-level (ranch) house.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes, barely
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes8 -
@RangerRickL I'm so sorry to read this, but I know from reading your posts over the last year that you come from a loving, supportive family who will help each other. My best wishes and prayers are with all of you.
