Many people make aspirational goals. An aspirational goal is expressed this way,"I wish I was fit/lean/etc".
Aspirations are just wishes.
Once you begin to act in a way that is helpful in moving you toward your goals, then you not wishing. You are on your way.
There are many times that people dump/quit the UAC because they hoped that we have found the Holy Grail of weight loss; fitness; and/or maintenance. Unfortunately, they quit before they realize that we have found the Holy Grail. It takes grit to act to make habits of the 3 principles posted just above this post.
Since you are on this team. you are wonderful and inspirational people to me and each other!
Thanks, Rick

It truly IS about understanding, accepting and embracing the difference between "simple" and "easy"
5 -
Yip, simple does not mean easy.
Today exercise was kids Jiu Jitsu class, adults class and yoga plus my day at work. Tomorrow is our last day for 2 weeks so even though it is due to be cold and wet we are excited for the break. We took two more penguin chicks to learn to feed from us today and named them Nemo and Dory (we are going with a Disney theme with names at the moment).
Food choices were ok and under budget so that's good. It's a few hours before sleep still so I'm happily cuddled in bed with my fur children and popcorn and series. Cold weather does have some perks.6 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes! 4 hours of dog walks today. My boy lost a lot of his stamina and fitness during the confinement, so I'm so happy he is getting back to his old self again! I will be taking him with me when I walk the Camino de Santiago later this year, so he needs to be in great condition so we can both enjoy it - all 900km of it!
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes!

Yes to all three.
Half hour run and 20 minutes of yoga for exercise.
It's great having this challenge. It's given me more focus for sure7 -
Yes x 3 both yesterday and today.
I lost five of my team today to lay-offs. Two of whine were two of my best. I’m shattered.15 -
Yes to all three today, I did a couple of half hour cycle rides. I feel like I’ve overeaten a bit, but I tracked it all and it’s still within my calories (including exercise). I’m still working out what I should have my baseline activity level set at, so this is still very much the learning phase for me. But I appreciate your words @RangerRickL , it’s good to know I’m doing the right thing just by tracking my calories and activity and trying to learn from it.
@juliemouse83 That sounds awful, too many people are getting hands they don't deserve right now.7 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - 30 minutes of yoga and a little bit of walking. I’m tired and sore after seeing my chiropractor yesterday but hoping I’ll be on the up tomorrow.

@RangerRickL i actually joined this challenge because of my weight loss goal - but I’ve stopped thinking about that much at the moment. I absolutely love that this challenge is totally focused on the process. And actually I think that in hindsight, while one of my goals is to shed some pounds, another is to feel relaxed around food, take control of what I’m eating and actually enjoy not eating it all, which is what I feel like I’m doing for the first time in a long time. I’m so glad I joined you in this challenge, it’s turned things around for me.11 -
Super good post @RangerRickL We can't just live in our thoughts and feelings -- we have to put in the work, a little at a time, and build on that. Nobody else is going to do it for us. No magical day will appear someday in the future when conditions wil be better.
We have to act now. This is true of anything we want to achieve in life, from college degrees to making a garden to becoming a healthier, fitter person.7 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yep! 44 minutes of cardio and arms, 55 minutes of walking.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? No, I did not. Pass #1 I was good about not mindlessly snacking even though I felt hungry, but I went over in the calorie allotment for the day. I do think I am still under my weekly calories, but not for today’s goal.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? I did, yep!

Very thankful to have found UAC. Tracking my food has made such a difference for me! I started tracking 5/15 and have lost 5 pounds so far. I’m not hungry. Being aware instead of being ignorant of my choices.

Yup x 3 💃🏿 Feeling really good about my food choices. Usually when I have a big work deadline, I indulge in takeout. But, I cooked a delish salmon, veggie stir fry, n quinoa for the week, which has been oh so satisfying.7

Today's exercise was dropping off gift bags for three of my students. I walked about 35 min there and 35 back. Tomorrow will be more trips (the teachers split up the students so I have 12 total). It was good to see them and say hi and add at least a little bit of joy to what was a sad end of the school year for them.6 -

This is pass day 3. I have used up all my passes, but I’m still happy that I’m back with UAC. I’ve been much more mindful of my health this month.9 -

My boyfriend was like "go walk with me at the park, we'll take the dogs." So I'm like, "okay!". . We get up at 6am and proceeded to walk TO the park and back for a total of 4.6 miles. My poor doggy is not used to that long, PLUS it was already hot, so about 4 miles in, he was like "nope, I'm done!" and plopped down. So I gave him some water and my boyfriend carried him the rest of the way haha, it was so cute. He's a 10 lb Yorkie.
And yikes, my legs! I'm glad I did it though!8 -
Exercise: Official 30 minute walk, plus all day trying to keep up with two great grand kids. Fun day!
