25 year "french fry" vegetarian transitioning to ETL/McDougall

I'm delighted to have found this group. I've been a vegetarian for over 25 years, and I must admit that my choices have not always been the nutritious ones (who would have guessed that so many vegetarian pastries are available?)

As I've aged, I've noticed that my body reacts more strongly to processed foods, and I'd starting with the shelter in place order in my state to focus more on eating whole vegan foods.

I figure since I have to be at home, this is a great time to learn how to stock my kitchen/pantry, plan meals, prepare tasty meals my family might be interested in eating.

If anyone has room in their friends' roster for more friends, I'd love to become your friend. Just send me an invite, and I'll be happy to accept.

Hi Shred... hope some of the responses to your last post were helpful. I went ahead and sent you a friend request but you should be aware I don't look at my timeline and I don't log my food. I have limited time so I devote it to checking in with this group rather than reviewing my timeline.

I've also noticed that processed foods are worse on my body as I age. Inflammation mostly.

I was vegetarian for a long time, then went vegan in 2012 and never looked back. I lost a lot of weight initially but as I discovered more and more vegan snacks and convenience foods I put quite a bit of it back on. I'm definitely a stress eater.

    Hi Shred,
I sent you an invitation! I do log my food, so you are welcome to take a look. I do make an effort to eat whole rather than processed, and am seeing improvements in my health (test results at annual physical, inflammation symptoms), for sure!

Hi Shred...I sent you a friend request. I do use my diary now...and it is open to friends. Do join us on the other thread. Lots of ideas there.
