Sorry late posting. Had my hardwood floors installed this week. Quite an experience. I love them. Feels like a new home. Today dusting, wiping down and putting my accessories back in place. My parents are coming over tomorrow to bring some more of their stuff. Man are they going to be surprised! They knew I was going to make this upgrade but didn’t know when. I can’t wait to see my mom’s face. :) I’ll post a couple of photos.

    Chris - happy Anniversary!

Kathy - cant wait to see your floors!

Jim and I found a place about 3 hours away in Bedford Springs, PA where we could come and spend a few days in a socially distant matter. We both need a break. I think we've only had two days off since the beginning of the year. Now that we got Bella off to camp, it'll be nice just to have the chance to take a breath. This Resort has some hiking trails so we're going to do like a 3-mile hike a little later after I take a quick conference call. Hope to get some good steps in :-)

Pictures of my living room, kitchen, bedroom and dining room. Have some work to do today putting the accessories back in place. I have to say I love my floors. :) Next project refacing and/or painting the kitchen cabinets and painting the kitchen. I wanted these projects completed before parents move in.

Our new trellis. And a photo of what the plants look like that are going to grow on it. And in Nebraska people must love walking in wet cement.

That is going to be sooo cool!! I love the sidewalk, too.

We had Ronan is evening. He's a blast. We walked over to our park and kicked a ball around for a bit. There were a lot of people out. He is really into Pokemon. He has the hat, gloves, and jacket of the human in the story whose name is Ash. It is so fun watching him play the character.

Seriously watching Ash catch the critters. <3

I am so glad you were able to get outside and have some fun with your little guy! I have never watched Pokemon. He is getting to be such a big man. <3 And I love the finger-less gloves!

Don't want to weigh in until I'm on a downward trend. It's ugly right now.

I’m with you Chris. The scale is not my friend at the moment. But we will get there again.

I agree with you both. I also agree with Karen, we are more than just the numbers on a scale.

I have been doing better this week. But it is my moms last week here and I am not going to spend it constantly worrying about the number on the scale. I am going to have fun with her and just not over do it.

My mom has surgery on Tuesday. So keep us in your thoughts and prayers please.

Spend time with your mom, Shelley. I hope her surgery goes well.

The kids came over yesterday afternoon. We had dinner...pizza...which I haven't had is FOREVER, and I know why now. I'm not a big fan. When Pat and I lived in San Jose, there was a pizza joint that served what they called New York Pizza...OH!! MAN!!! I would have camped out in there restaurant if they had let me. It was so good. I have never had anything that compared, so it's easy for me not to eat it. Anyway, we played with Ronan and just jabbered. It was fun.

    Reading now and drinking coffee.

Chris you must describe this pizza that has ruined all other pizza for you. Sounds fantastic already. So nice that you are getting to see the kids again. I practice social distancing everywhere I can. That way I can hang out with my friends who are also careful. ;)

183 was a spike, so 182 is just leveling out, unfortunately in a higher range, sigh... Only bought a couple things in this new upper range and even they are getting too tight. Thought I could wear an comfortable old dress while my current wardrobe was being laundered; but it's tight too. Ugh!!!

I was doing okay till Covid hit, staying 140-150. Being home half-time messed with my eating habits. I'm not eating junk, but I'm eating good stuff too much. Need to learn to track it again.

They did layoffs at work, so I retired to free up an AT position for Raymond. I needed to leave by 06/30 to meet the layoff schedule and was insane busy doing day-to-day, cross training, documenting procedures, and making sure my annual $5M tax assessments were on track.

The weekend before my June exit date, my mom's health failed. So I left two days early and got to her the last day she talked to us before she went into a coma. She died the next week in July. And this month I've been dealing with her funeral, estate management, and signing up for social security, pension, and medicare (all of which had July implementation deadlines).

Traveling during Covid is surreal. Three interstate trips in the last two months found people wearing masks a lot more now, both in airports and at road stops. Whole sections of airports are closed and redirected because they're like ghost towns (except Las Vegas) and I blew out my knee rushing between airport terminals with heavy luggage.

My drive back for the funeral was very strange. I think mom was watching over me:
    • ]Coffee spilled on me and didn't scald me,
    • A gas pump malfunctioned and left a pool under my car - but I was alerted by a lady who had been chased away when she started to light a cigarette - and so I didn't start the car and low up.
    • And I ran out of gas in the desert, after 9pm, where the station was closed and my card didn't work; but another traveller showed up and charged my gas for me on his card and enabled me to travel on.

My last July deadline (Medigap application) is complete. I'm taking Aleve hoping my knee will heal so I can walk again. I'm emphasizing low-carb and tracking to get my weight under control. And now plan to collapse, in hopes of feeling human again soon.

Shelley - keep thinking of you in Utah - the aquarium is so amazing. Maybe someday , we can meet...

Chris I hope you had a good anniversary. Hopefully involving curling up with a good book.

Paula I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It was good that you were able to talk with her before the end. And I believe she was watching over you. Your chance meeting with your fellow traveler could have ended differently. What a wonderful ending to a horrible day.

And Paula one of my retirement goals is to meet all of you wonderful gals. If Chris could travel I would propose one of Kathy's vacation spots!

My mom had a stent put in her heart valve. Then while the doctor was explaining it to us she had a stroke. It has been a rough couple of days. With the new rules at the hospital she can only have one visitor a day. And if I leave I cannot come back. Her left side functions are not good. Her blood pressure was around 230 - 235 yesterday. Much better today. Her nurses and doctors have been wonderful. All the hospital staff has been great. Rocky moved her things upstairs to be closer to us today. Not sure when she will get to come home or how she is really doing.

    Night my friends

You are both in my thoughts. Paula, I am very sure your mom is watching over you. Shelley, I hope your mom recovers soon. I'm sorry you can't see her more.

Paula, I applied for SS this year and when I'm 72 I have to start taking $$ out of my 403QMRTF...I don't know what the #'s and letter are. All that $$ is going into the Education Fund for Ronan.

Sara got a Preschool curriculum for Ronan, and that kid is burning thru it like a crazy man! He always wants more to work on. He is so smart...just like his mom!! They are getting their yards redone and are going to check out plants and rocks. We're getting Ronan and probably Bean for a few hours today.
