Have been eating low carb (25 net grams a day) for more than a year now, have been trying to push through some serious cravings so I have been chewing Pur gum (5 calories and 1 gram carbs per piece), with xylitol. Am reading mixed messages about xylitol - don’t count the carbs, count half the carbs, don’t put that in your mouth.... what are your experiences / thoughts?

Xylitol, liquid sucralose (not Splenda powder, it is fluffed up with dextrose and maltodextrin powder which is basically sugar), and erythritol (this one has zero NET carbs) are the 3 you can legitimately not count as they aren't absorbed in the gut at all. The other sugar alcohols, count half.5
