I'm a new member of staff, and my work place is having a Jacob join today to welcome myself and two other new staff members, everyone in my department knows I'm on a diet and that I'm down 6lbs since starting there 4 weeks ago (9 if you count the 3lbs I put on in the first week!)
However there is a line between being on a diet and being a fussy eater, everyone is bringing something, some healthy and some not so healthy, and although i don't want to go nuts I do want to be able to enjoy myself and get to know some of the people out of my department without them getting the wrong impression that I'm obsessed with weight and calorie counting.
So to counteract this, I have planned my breakfast and dinner to be under 500cal leaving me the rest to relax and enjoy my lunch!

I know this event has passed but my "secrets" for these type of events are:
-tiny bites & trash the rest (better in the trash than on my ash)
-keep busy as to not venture back.
-remember these are usually social, visit and carry a water.
- white lies are my friends....oh I already had a plate of snacks
-also remember you don't have to eat to enjoy the event0 -
I did stock up on carrots and celery, and avoided the cheese and pastry options! but the cinnamon and courgette cake was amazing, I had half a slice and went back for the second half!
But I ate as little as possible without being rude0
