P90X Modified?

OK I have started P90X, and I am on day 3 (shoulders and arms I believe) and a friend of mine gave me her DVD's, but I don't have any weights or restraint bands or pull up bars! In the meantime I have been doing some Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred moves that I know... so today since just about everything was with the weights or restraints I put in the ab ripper because I didn't do it on day 2. That alone was an awesome workout and felt like I was dying LOL, but!
what I want to know is, is it ok to modify this until I can get this equipment? I'm sure I can get some of this at Wal-mart or somewhere, but I wanted to jump right in!!! And on day 1, I still did pushups (barely made it lol), and when they did pull ups I just other exercises. I am making sure I am busting my butt, or also doing other segments they have already done that I am not good at to work on, but I just don't want to feel like I am cheating it!!! So far in 3 days I am having great results and I love it!!! I would just like some advice/answers from ANYONE, especially with P90X experience!!!
