Hope everybody had a great weekend. Saturday was sunny and warm so we went to our local beach for the day. Yesterday we visited with my boyfriend's parents. Saw them for the first time in MONTHS and it was awesome.
Hope all is well by you. Regular Keto day planned here with a six hour eating window from 3pm to 9pm.

Hey! I have been in in-service nightmare for the last couple of days. Crazy amount of information to absorb, especially this year.

Good morning all (Kate)! LOL
Hello from crazy storm ravaged Connecticut. Yesterday at 2:00pm Eastern we lost power... It JUST came back on. So far no cable. So I am at the office. Rolled out of bed, threw some make up and clothes on and here I am! LOL
Just looked at the news and they are saying that there are 700,000 people in Connecticut without power. Please keep us in your thoughts. These are tough times with a pandemic and people hurting as it is. Sigh...
Hopefully cable comes back so that i can leave here in a few hours and work from home, take a proper shower, etc. Oh yeah good times. Honestly, just have to be grateful. It could have been worse. Trees down in our parking lot, but not on our cars or condo, etc.
Last night we were torn as to what to do for dinner. Couldn't bake the nice salmon we were defrosting, so un-breaded chicken wings to the rescue!
Planning a normal as possible day today. All I can do is take it one day at a time.

@Meghan509 I am glad you were relatively unscathed by the storm. I saw some of the news reports! I hope your cable comes back on and you can just stay in for a bit.
On a lighter note, every time someone in my house sees a headline of something bad happening, they yell, "Who had ___________ on their apocalypse bingo card?!" You just have to roll with it and find the bright side where you can. This is some crazy stuff.
In the weight loss department, I am so close to ten pounds down, but I keep bouncing off of it. I know it will come, but it is frustrating to be *so* close and not quite get there.
Off to work in my classroom. I got a lot done yesterday, so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Good news is that the assistant principal didn't walk in while I was shaking my groove thang to my motivational playlist! LOL

Yesterday was a full year on Keto! Too much going on to take pics and measure, but that will happen over the weekend!
In any case, here are my stats from the past year:
Start weight on August 5, 2019: 210
High weight from February 2012: 240
Current weight (as of last Friday): 157.2
Height: 5'4"
Age: 48
Took a whole lot of measurements over the past year, will let you know about those in time.
The power has stayed on! Cable came back yesterday morning as well and has been good. DVR acts a little slow, but understandable given how many outages there are. Today CT is at 600,000 people without power. Not much progress since yesterday which is disappointing, but grateful that we turned out okay.
@KateNkognito hope you get to ten pounds down soon! You will. Keep fighting. You got this!
Going to continue working from home today and will probably have another low key day. Fine by me! Tomorrow AM is my weekly weigh in.

I am glad you have power and cable. Hopefully they can get everything back on soon for everyone.
I am headed back to my classroom to finish up with getting things put away. Just a bit more and I think it will be ready to start the year. I was starting to get really frustrated because the scale isn't moving, but I decided that I am just not going to care. I will keep weighing in daily, but I am not getting hung up on a number. I can see a difference in how I look. I can see that I am losing inches. I can see that the crease in my ear is going away. I can tell that my blood sugar is so much lower. I feel better. I look better. I am going to keep going.1

So, after just letting go and trusting in God to get me there, I hit 10 pounds lost yesterday! God is good!
Today is a fast day. I am going to hit the store and then get some things checked off my To Do list. I know, everyone is jealous of my exciting life. LOL

Morning, y'all! Good fast day yesterday. Got a bunch of stuff done. More of the same today.
I have to go shopping for teacher clothes. I *loathe* clothes shopping, especially for myself. And the store that I really like for their petite pants has closed. I might look at the labels on the pants I have and like and shop on Amazon. Also, except fort the hiccup last week, I have been losing pretty steadily. I don't want to buy a whole bunch of stuff that won't fit in a few months. Anyone have any suggestions?

Congrats on ten pounds lost, @KateNkognito!! Way to go! Yes, don't sweat the scale. Trust me, I know. I have lost the same two pounds the last few weeks, but my clothes are fitting better and looser. I own two items in a size 6 now.
Pants: Try Old Navy and Target. Why spend a lot of money if you don't need to. So many nice things and you can shop online at either site if you know your sizing. My two cents! Amazon is good too and they have Prime Wardrobe, where you can try stuff on and send it back as needed if it isn't right.
My LONG weekend was awesome! We spend ALL DAY Saturday, Sunday, and Monday at the beach!! Today is beautiful too but it is a work day.

@Meghan509 The long weekend sounds fantastic! I hadn't thought about Target. I really like the shirts at Eddie Bauer, too. It is really hard to find good pants for petites. I just have to make myself go and shop at some point. Enjoy your quiet week!
I swear I posted yesterday! I must not have hit the button.
Not much going on here. I am staying home and by myself because I might have been exposed to someone with Covid. I should find out in a day or so if they tested positive, or not. Also, it is always fun when you get emails from your employer telling you to make sure your will and your finances are in order in case you get wiped out in the pandemic. We updated our wills and got them signed yesterday. Then my husband was on the phone with a friend and said, "If you don't hear from me again, it was a setup deal!" LOL
I was going to fast yesterday, but I took some extra vitamins on an empty stomach and it made me nauseous. By the end of the day yesterday, I was looking forward to today's fast! My stomach is not used to eating every day anymore. It needs to rest and digest.1 -

I weighed in this morning and am down .8 lbs! I will take it! Finally got the scale to move again - been a few weeks of ups and downs! This is another new low for me.
So, next week! My guy and I are going to try a fast together! Going to start with one day and see how it goes, maybe do a two day - Monday and Tuesday. Going to stock up on some flavored seltzer waters and some chicken broth at the market. Both of us feel like we could use a little jump start to get ourselves losing better.
Vitamins are a good point! Will take a few minerals that don't typically create nausea, to keep electrolytes balanced: Potassium, Magnesium, and sodium. Will let you know how it goes.
Good luck with your fasts, @KateNkognito and your pants purchase. I like Eddie Bauer too! Nice stuff there.

Today I have an online meeting and some paperwork stuff to do in my classroom.
@Meghan509 Good luck with your fasting! I really do recommend the book Fast. Feast. Repeat. It has some really good info. I take some of the things she says that she personally does with a grain of salt, but her science is all sound.

I was so happy this morning when I woke up and it was Saturday! Next week I officially report back for the school year. It is going to be a crazy year, but I am sure it will go by really quickly. It will be May before we know it.

Happy Monday to you, @KateNkognito!! We had a lovely weekend. Got together with family and friends on Saturday, for my guy's birthday. Good times.
Thanks for the note about that book! We are planning to fast Tuesday and Thursday. We bought a bunch of sugar free / sodium free flavored seltzer to have on hand. We will do black coffee and tea, lots of water, potassium and magnesium for minerals and some chicken broth with sodium for electrolytes.
One more week and school is back - wow! Hope it is a great year.

Thank you, @KateNkognito! We are ready to go. Cheers to you with my black coffee! Started our fast at 9:00pm Monday night and will aim to have our next meal (lunch) on Wednesday at 3:00pm. Whoot! Here we go!
I logged in the few items I will be "eating" today: black coffee, potassium, magnesium, and organic chicken broth for "lunch" and "dinner". Not logged: Massive amounts of water!!!

Good morning!
Yesterday went AWESOME! Pretty much no hunger, aside from a few stomach growls here and there in the evening. Energy was a tad low in the evening. After we had two cups of organic chicken broth we felt a little less lethargic.
Otherwise all fine. Went to bed early and slept well.
Today I am in the office for a few hours. No food since Monday night at 9:00pm Eastern and I FEEL FINE! Stuck to black coffee and lots of water yesterday. Today I put half and half in my coffee. No food planned until lunch at 3:00pm. Will eat lunch and dinner and for Thursday same thing planned as yesterday.
Next week I'd like to experiment with a longer fast. We shall see!

Yesterday went well. Ate from 3pm to 9pm and stuck to my calories and low carb macros.
Fasting again now until 3pm Friday. Hoping to pop in here tomorrow AM with good weight loss news!

I am so glad tomorrow is Friday! It has been a LOOONG week! Stress and hormones and allergies have just made me feel awful. Good news is that feeling bad made it really easy to fast this week.

Have to share my NSV first thing this morning! I put on a pair of jeans that I haven't worn since last spring and they are loose! They weren't too tight before, but they definitely were not loose like this.

I had a good couple of days with six hour eating windows, alternate day fasting on Tuesday and Thursday, very little to no hunger, etc. Today I weigh in and I see a gain of .4... Really?? Disclaimer: We bought a new scale. BF is down over three pounds and I am happy for him! But still... A gain for me??? Sigh...
Going to keep at it and maybe stick with a single day of water fasting and the rest of the week 18:6 and I plan on being more strict during the 18 hours, i.e., no half and half in my coffee. Also going to try and eat larger and more filling meals vs. little snacks.

@KateNkognito heads up that JC Penney is having a big sale. I found some work pants online for $13 each! They are the "house brand" Worthington. Have bought them in the past and they are good quality. FYI.1

@Meghan509 Sorry you didn't have a loss. Have you thought about weighing more often? I have been weighing daily and there were several times when, if I had weighed only once a week, I would have thought I had a gain for the week. Either that or just chuck the scale out the window because it didn't behave! Keep up the good work! You can do this! And thanks for the heads up, I will go check those out! I hope they have petites. Thanks @KateNkognito I think the new scale was probably the issue. Yes, looking back I should have weighed in when we first got it. Sigh... Yes I can be stubborn. LOL Me and my scale issues.
We are back on the fasting wagon again. We started at 9:00pm last night and will go straight through until Wednesday at 3:00pm or when we give in and want to eat lunch.
Hope you had a nice weekend. We had beautiful beach weather. Thank God. Couple more weekends left and then we are in September. Jeez, it is going by so fast.
Yes, those pants do come in a few different lengths! I bought petite and short and have bought short in the past. Hoping they are both good with my flats.
