In roll call, @cakeman21k said, "Another month down in my journey though life!". When I first read it, I was sure he was going to say "...journey of weight loss". And it got me thinking, how was my July re. weight loss.
How were my numbers?
But it's not just about the numbers, how did my plan go? What do I need to change/tweek in August?
How was my July?
So how was your July?
My answers are below.

How were my numbers? Good, down #4.4. Until I looked back thanks to the roll call comment, I really hadn't realized the progress made in July.
But it's not just about the numbers, how did my plan go? Mostly good! I followed the plan that I've laid out in the #10 challenge so I won't repeat it here.
What do I need to change/tweek in August? The cottage! Alcohol is always part of this family time, which I can work in, but it makes the food part harder and less controlled, as well as others bringing random delicious foods adding temptations. I have two 5 day mini vacas in Aug, so I plan to make low cal snacks (fruit and veggies) easy to grab. Also going to aim to blue dot at least 3 of the 5 days, and stay within my WPs.
How was my July? I'm generally pleased with my progress. I feel like I could actually be on track.2 -
@linmueller Well done!
I, too, am pleased with my July although I am technically in Maintenance. Still managed to lose an overall of 2.2#s and that’s ok. Giving myself a nice buffer zone works best mentally for me.
What will I do differently in August? Absolutely nothing.1 -
As far plan goes my July was good. Down 5.5 pounds and tracked 22 out of 31 days. August started off badly as far as plan goes (smoked a big old pork butt yesterday it was really good) but it just 1 day I have the rest of the month to work through so no worries yet.1

WTG. A livable working plan is the path to goal.1

July went well from a weight perspective. I mostly followed my plan, and I lost a bit of weight. I broke through an important mental barrier for myself and so I'm pleased by that.
A bigger issue is trying to understand how to be flexible with the ever-changing plans in the world. In our state, COVID cases went up as the state began re-opening, and of course there were the racial issues that bubbled over. It was easy to fall into the trap of thinking that the sky was falling, and that all the hope (to play on today's LTL thread) that I had that things were getting better was false hope. We were thrown into a lot of uncertainty regarding our kids' school plans, and some work plans, etc. Learning to be ok with uncertainty is something I need to work on!2 -
Thanks for the encouragement guys, and great work! Congrats on all your losses!
I think there's some real value in looking back at the big picture, especially for those of us whose weight bounces day to day. It's sometimes hard to see that I'm moving in the right direction.
And I totally relate to @steve0mania . I have always been a planner, but I have let go some since 2008 when a tragic event rocked our family, something I would never have chosen and could do absolutely nothing to prevent it. I had to trust that God was in control, and it's helpel a lot, but still, it's a struggle. Trying to focus my energy on what I can control, like my eating! I want goal! and that IS in my control! It's time!1 -
July was good for me as I lost 4 lbs officially. Also got back in twoterville for the first time in 3.5 years. I was able to get in 9 days of the month under 300 lbs. So the key is doing what it takes to stay under 300 moving forward.👍🙂1
