I just wondered if anyone has a pre-existing condition that had been under control but has been irritated by peri/menopause's famous hormone fluctuations ...

I have been in remission from ulcerative colitis and proctitis for about 10 years but now I am having an irritating time. My proctitis has started to flare up. (proctitis is essentially inflammation of the rectum ... did you know that the rectum is actually about a foot long?!) It could be a hemorrhoid which is common with menopause but with my pre-existing condition, it is likely the proctitis ...
I am making an appointment to get it checked out but I was curious if anyone is dealing with health conditions though long gone ...
