Gastric Bypass Surgery 9/15/20

Let me start by saying I started this journey in 2013 - 7 years ago. I'd lose weight, think 'I can do this myself' - then down the road regain what I'd lost, and sometimes more. It was a real rollercoaster for 6 of those 7 years. Heading toward 60 years old I decided 'it's time', and I really started doing it. I lost about 35 pounds pre-surgery and will do into it at about 240. I'm 59 and this was just the right time to do it.
Yes, I'm scared - it's a huge, drastic step! I'm relatively healthy (and the path to surgery really promotes that), but I have diabetes (controlled with pills so far), hypertension, and I feel my joints a lot more than I used to. Going forward I want to be as healthy as possible - for myself, my husband, the rest of my family.
I'll try to track what happens from surgery on - I'm not the greatest at keeping diaries but I'm gonna do my best.
To everyone who's been here before - I'm reading your entries for support and answers to questions. For those on the same road - I hope what I note can be of some help.

Update - the surgery was postponed to Monday, 9/24 due to the smoke/fire/air quality issues here in Portland. Hoping it doesn't get cancelled again... I'm really over Boost!0
