I've been reading a book by Karen Pryor. @Dory_42 will may know who she is as she was the first person to figure out how to use positive reinforcement to train dolphins.
Karen wrote a book back in 1984 which has become a classic to teach all of us to understand how we will be much more motivated by a positive reinforcement than punishment.
I've been leading this group for several years. I inherited UAC from someone else. I changed some of the concepts to make it more friendly, but I never took the time to really think about how to give a reward for all of us who post throughout the month, but miss the Winner's Circle.
That is why I added the Ultimate Accountability Champions. The Champions need praise for hanging in here and posting even though life has thrown them some curve balls.
I appreciate your feedback on this idea. So far, it seems to be well received.
Your friend,
Rick

I haven’t heard of her but we use positive reinforcement with our seals and I know I respond better to that in my personal life as well.
I too love the champions idea! There are different ways to win and that covers a different one to the winners circle.12 -

I like the Champions idea. Sticking to the end is very helpful to forming a good habit.
For me setting a personal goal and writing it out especially in a forum like this keeps me accountable and I have found it very helpful.
Personal goals for October:
1. Plan to be in winners circle (track everything as expected in this UAC)
2. Not more than 3 pass days
3. Stay honest (even if it puts me out of the circle for the month)
4. Forgive my mistakes (forgive myself) and don't leave the UAC for this month even if I failed
5. Encourage others where possible.
Following these goals was very helpful to me last month.
Looking forward to a successful October!

Already having to use one of my pass days - I've definitely done the exercise (probably close to a couple of hours walking) but eating out meant no tracking and calories most likely over. It'll be easier sticking to the plan once I'm back home!10

That saying about motivation was me to a T today! It sucked, I was completely drained. But I still got up before 7, got on the treadmill!
Yes to all 3!

Yes x3
Long walk to pick up some hoagies then had that for dinner and no wine/alcohol again and was under. I'm about 1-2 lb more than my maintenance level that I got toast month so I'm trying to leave some more calories for a bit while I attempt to level it there.12
