We meet here to explore, share, celebrate and (sometimes) agonize over how we do (or don't) incorporate weight loss guidelines into our daily lives. "It's a lifestyle, not a diet" is easily and often said, but sometimes not so simply put into practice.
This is a thread for everyone. If you're new to GoaD, or to weight loss, your questions and comments are always welcome. If you're maintaining, or a long-term loser, your thoughts on the topic may be just what someone else needs to hear. If you're reading this, join in the discussion!
Each weekday, a new topic is offered up for discussion.
Monday - 88olds (George)
Tuesday - whathapnd (Emmie)p
Wednesday - misterhub (Greg)
Thursday - Wild Card!!!
Friday - imastar2 (Derrick)
Today's Topic: Desserts: How do you balance or plan for your dessert during the day. Or do you even plan your desserts or do you substitute something for the little sweet morsels.

My "strict rule" is no desserts during the week. I will have a dessert (often cut in half) for Friday night dinner and Saturday lunch (Shabbat meals).
During the week I'll have a cup of hot tea if I need something a little sweet (usually Chai with Splenda)1 -
We don't generally do dessert or candy except holidays, when mom comes to the cottage, and at the start of covid 🙄
But ... For mom's birthday, along with fudgy chocolate cake, I made a pound dropper cheesecake, 0 SP on 💜, with a fruit topping. And I love it! It's not real sweet, but I really like it, and since it has lots of protein, it's very filling. So it will probably be my go to "dessert", at least for now.1 -
OK Lin, now I want that recipe.1

I made the Plain Jane Cheesecake. Like I said, not sweet alone, but so good with the fruit compote! I want to try the lemon but can't find the lemon sf pudding mix.

When I started WW I did this fill in the blank- I can make this work if ____________,
One of my answers was get a treat everyday. So I researched and experimented with treats. I found I got the most bang for the WW points with something frozen. I’ve tried them all. For quite awhile my pick was the WW fudge bar that I’d knock of the stick and eat with a spoon. It lasted longer that way. Now there are several brands of no sugar added ice cream. Whatever might be on sale. Counting calories on MFP 125 calls is about 7% of my total.1
