Newish to lower carb

Hi all,
Did keto and paleo years ago but found them not sustainable for me... now trying lower carb. Starting at 100g and lowering it slowly down to probably around 60g. I do like fruit and veggies and am wondering how that might impact it?

    I lost all my excess weight averaging 128 total carbs per day. Weigh loss for me is about proper calorie intake as opposed to macro allocation. I will say though, the reason my carb intake tends to fit into the "low carb" arena is because of my focus on limiting what I consider low nutrient foods-tasty-but low in nutrients such as cookies, cakes, pies, candies, fritos, doritos, cheetos, etc. I do love all of those things but they are the type of carbs I tend to over eat. Vegetables and even fruits, I'm ok with.

    I do best if I refrain from salty/sweet/fatty concoctions of any type.

    Hey Mousie, I am back to MFP two week tomorrow. I am playing with something called protein to energy ratio along with keeping carbs under 100g. Still trying to figure it out. Right now, I am early on so I am trying to be cognizant of the carb load of a given fruit or vegetable. I have been targeting a lots to salads and broccoli, given up my bananas and discovered gooseberries (like sour patch kids as a fruit :wink: ). On another note, I did do Keto but had to give it up due to complications and have never tried Paleo. My big thing is I am looking to get away from uncontrollable cravings that I have been giving in to for over a year, but even more so during the COVID lockdowns. From your name, I am guessing I am 12 years older that you, 1961. :)

    I’m new to low carb too also doing 16:8 along side as it just fits together well for me.
    I have found that my appetite and carb cravings have reduced dramatically which is a good thing feel so much more in control. The only issue I have is the nasty taste in my mouth which I guess is keto breath, I tend to aim for 40-50g carbs a day which seems to be working well for me.
    Veggies I tend to go for anything that grows above the ground and for fruit it’s berries and cream so delicious! Nether have hindered my weight loss 11lbs in 5wks with 1 week spent on holiday.
