I'll take it. I hope I can keep going down so my goal for the coming week is to keep making my 10K steps per day and to get that deficit in calories a little higher. MFP teases me with that "If every day were like today, in 5 weeks you'd weigh ___________." The amount is always lower than I think I could achieve in that time frame. We'll see. I think it's also helping that I'm getting close to 7 hours of sleep now compared to the 5 or 6 I got when I was working. Mentioning work, I had my work phone line disconnected day before yesterday. Verizon is evil. I called around 2 p.m. and asked them to disconnect at the end of the day. I had called on the line I wanted disconnected. And when I told them I was not interested in talking to them about changing my internet from Comcast to Fios, the line suddenly went dead. And I had not yet gotten some voice mails off that I wanted. They just pulled the plug right then. >:)

Our county sent out a request for more people to get tested for Covid. They said they need a higher percentage of the population to get tested in order to better assess conditions here. So although having a cotton swab stuck up my nose is not real high on the list of things I like do, I sucked it up and we went this morning to the mobile CDC unit set up outside the mall. We were in and out in less than a half hour. Results take 3 to 5 days.

Today it's a bit breezy, but the temps are pleasant and we have a mix of sun and clouds. I am going to head out shortly for a walk. Hope all is well with everyone else. Looking forward to your posts.

Well that didn't go well at all. I'm trying to think what I ate last night, because I jumped up a full pound from yesterday. Well golly gee willickers Maynard.

Rhea activity was great...M-today no so good at all. MIL did not walk yesterday, so I followed suit and climbed back into bed. This morning she actually went on her own for about 15 mins, unfortunately, I was knee deep in work and couldn't break away. When I could, she was already walking up the walkway to the front door. So I came back to work. I had to run an errand for "lunch" today to pick up supplies for the gift baskets I make for our new homeowners. Sadly, the crew pulled the wrong size baskets and I ended up having to go in and find them myself - UGH So frustrating.

Well, it seems I'm pretty much in a holding pattern, which doesn't surprise me. I know I must concentrate more to reduce, which I'm not doing. I'm still getting in the exercise, but the intake is my issue still. It's been beautiful weather here, so I've been doing more outdoor walks. Tuesday was strength training and cardio. Yesterday was house and yard work, lol. Today, I'm going outside to walk my 3 mile route. I'm eating healthy food, just not logging and getting a deficit. Ugh.

Thank you for the birthday wishes! I had a really nice birthday. My family all Zoomed in and we played games online. They sang the regular happy birthday song, and one that is funny for a Covid birthday, lol!

Happy belated Anniversary Lois. And, I really understand what you mean about playing with and chasing grand kiddos . . it's something to keep in mind as we do our workouts. I think it's worth it . . they're so fun o:) It sounds like MIL is getting a bit more independent going by herself for a short walk, and that's great for you.

Sarah, congratulations on your reduction! I'm sure you're Covid negative, but let us know how that went. I haven't been tested, but hubby says it's pretty awful with the swab! We've had a surge of cases in a neighboring county to the south (the one that made the news with their dumb resistance to masks), and today I learned that some of the ICU patients there have had to be transported to hospitals in our county. Scary. I worry about hospitals and their personnel getting overwhelmed and overworked. The governor moved their county back to "orange" from "yellow". I don't get why the people who most want everything "open" are the same ones who resist doing the things that would make that possible. Sigh.

I vote for you taking your time choosing what you want to do next. Have you felt better with the reduction of stress? How has your face problem been? I know that having no income is stressful too, but when we retired I was amazed at how much less we spent. There's a lot to consider. I'm sending good thoughts your way.

Sorry I was unable to log in yesterday, as Sarah was saying, the less time in front of a computer makes it more difficult. I was in the midst of dong a lot of physical work, and hubby was on the Mac for a lot of the day.

Off for a lovely fall day walk outside. :)

Hi, ladies. Quick post to let you know that my test results came back negative. Hubby is spending the day at his friend's farm so I'm on my own and having a bit of a hard time getting myself out the door for what I hope is the first of two walks. I did two yesterday and ended the day with 14,985 steps. Hubby will be too tired when he gets back to walk, so I'm not confident about getting that many steps in today, but I want to at least continue breaking 10K. If I could just get my intake down a little more I might see some progress, but I'm struggling with that aspect. :s

Thanks for asking about the face thing, Sheesh. I've had a little redness and swelling but nothing like the late summer/early fall stuff I had the past two years. Hope I'm not jinxing myself since fall has just begun!

Lois, I've had those 1 pound overnight jumps--in fact, I've had my weight go up more than 2 pounds overnight with no high sodium or other factors that would seem to explain it. The good thing is that it tends to go down in the same fashion--quickly and for no reason.

YAY For the negative results!! Awesome at getting in your steps. I need to set that up as a daily goal again. I've become too sedentary lately. And I won't be here for weigh in on Wednesday. I'm taking this week off....lol. No I'm on vacation from work Wed- Fri and I know my numbers aren't where they should be and I just don't want to acknowledge it this week. We are going to go on a train ride on Thursday. So food and wine on the train is what we are going to be doing. Lunch/brunch when we get up there and possibly dinner when we get home...depends on how we're doing after the train ride or if we find somewhere up near the railroad to dine. So this week is just going to be as if I'm on vacay all week. I need to address some stuff for the office, but other than that, I'm not going to put too much effort into anything else.

Today is Rhea's 2nd bday. She's up north with her parents and other grand parents. We are having her bday party on Saturday with all of us. I am attempting to make Puppy Dog cookies...she loves the show Puppy Dog Pals on Disney+ so that's what I'm attempting. That's Wednesday morning and Friday morning's activities. The party is just going to be us and the kids so not making a huge amount (unlike her dinosaur cookies).

Popping in here because I'm feeling a bit frustrated and I know I can vent to you gals. Our docs are going concierge and we just learned that the annual fee will be $1900 per person. Since I only go in 3 times a year to have my thyroid level checked and get the prescription refilled, I'm not so sure it makes sense for me to do that. Hubby has health issues so it might for him. But it's hard as heck to find a good doctor around here who is taking new patients, and with Covid still around, I sure don't want to be without a doc I feel good about. I'm reaching out to some of my women friends to ask if there is someone they'd recommend. That's gripe one today. LOL Gripe 2 is that hubby is spending money like we still have it. He went out to get a prescription refilled and came back with a lighted herb garden. That's 80 some dollars we do not need to spend. Since I pay the bills, I don't think it has hit him that we have about 40% of the income we did two months ago.

I'm still getting my 10K steps each day, but I weighed this morning and I'm still hanging around that same bad neighborhood. >:) I thought surely not sitting all day would make a difference, but so far . . .

Lois, the train trip sounds like a lot of fun. We have always thought it would be nice to take one of the trains that go through the mountains during autumn when the leaves are turning. There's one that starts in Western Maryland and goes into West Virginia, but I don't think they are doing it this year since our temps rule out open cars. Maybe next year. Enjoy your time off. You've earned some time away from the house and work.

Hi ladies. I'm in a little better mood today, but I'm just having a hard time getting moving for some reason. It's a beautiful fall day and I need to take advantage of it. Tonight a friend of our is performing (virtually) at the Comedy Center and he has sent a link. It's his first public stand-up routine. We have two friends now who do stand-up. Last night we had a zoom chat with friends, which helped to turn my mood around. Just when I think that I have problems, someone will share something that makes me realize that my current problems, at least, are small potatoes.

Well, I just logged on to put a snack in my food diary and thought that if I came here, confessed my laziness today, and promised to walk, it would get me moving. :D I finally got my 28-day step average above 10K on the fitbit dashboard, but unless I get a very nice surprise tomorrow, the scale still isn't moving. I think it's time to put more effort in getting my fat intake down. Even though I've been ending most days with a deficit and my carbs and protein are okay, my percentage of fat is still way too high. So if my steps are higher, my net calories are lower, and I still weigh about what I did last October (which I do), then something's gotta change.
