@MadisonMolly2017 - CONGRATULATIONS!!! That is wonderful news! It is an inspiration to see how well you take care of yourself. In fact, you have been inspiring me for many, many months to take care of myself and not take anything for granted. Thank you for such an amazing gift.3

Thank you @readyornot1234 💞
I’m so appreciative of your comments & to know I’ve been able to inspire you! I was inspired by others on here (who made me realize that maintenance WAS possible) - hoped I’d be able to do the same for others!
Thank YOU!3 -
@MadisonMolly2017 that’s epic news! Well done.
My recipient has three kidneys (but two of his are decoys) but I still have better function than him with one. In fact mine is right on the verge of being allowed to donate a kidney, which is 80 and above (except obviously I can’t donate the only one I have left)!5 -

Hey @Dory_42!
You are an 😇 on 🌎!!! Truly!
Thank you!!
I have 3 as well, but likely the 2 “native” kidneys are decoys as well at this point.
80 is amazing! I’m SO glad everything has gone well for you!
My recipient & I, the last I checked, had identical kidney function. It’s a bit surprising to be honest as mine is calculated with my age (14 years older) not hers. And she is lifelong super fit.
What is your creatinine number?1 -
@MadisonMolly2017 as far as I understand things we use a different measurement for creatinine thank you do. Mine should be below 100, to be in healthy range.
Here is the change in my readings before and after transplant.
You can also read some of the updates I made about my transplant journey on the kidney donor athlete page if you are interested.

@Dory_42
I LOVED reading your account of your surgery & recovery!!
Fun Fact: the kidney received from my donor had two arteries!! (So I have to take a baby aspirin every day.) When the world famous surgeon came to see me the next morning, she apologized that the surgery took a little longer due to sewing up two arteries ROFL
I was on a lot of meds at that point but I remember thinking she’s apologizing to me for being able to handle that effortlessly !!
SO Grateful you & your recipient are thriving❣️4
